They're a stout engine. I have an 82 f150 with a 351m in it as a project truck to lay frame and the engine has held up better then the rest of the truck for sure so far. Gas mileage is about 9 mpg though, haha

Looks like a great deal! The 351 (w,C or M!) are good engines. Make sure you run Chevron Delo 400 or Shell Rotella motor oil. They have the zinc and phosporus needed for flat tappet cam engines.

69 351W block is about the strongest production ford block produced.

Back when they were new, they didn't. It's the oils that have changed to meet emissions requirements. Modern engines have roller cams that don't need EP lubricants like zinc and moly, which affect catalytic converters, so they have been removed from, or reduced dramatically, from API rated passenger car motor oils.

These are the best I have one in my 64 ford f100 it is a 69 351W 4V. They had a pile of power even when stock I think the numbers were 297 HP @ 396 TQ from the factory. I added a new cam some forged flat tops decked the heads and block new intake and a 750 holley (and tons more) It will smoke a set of M/T indy profiles (28" high and 16 or 18" thread with) for a easy block. only probblem is the truck weighes almost 6,000# and has the worst steering and breaks, I plan to stick the motor in a fox body or T-bird someday.

yea you cant beat a 351. My step dad has a 69 Cougar with a stock headed 351 that went 10.50's on muscle with just headers & exhaust, mild roller cam, converter, 4.56's and some N50-15's :D
