Went to Firebird last week to get some times with the setup. All i really have is a Cone filter, Descreened MAF, 3000 stall, tranny cooler and a computer flash. AOD has been rebuilt 2500 miles ago. Everything else is bone stock. Temp was a balmy 111 degrees.

60ft : 1.99
330 : 5.82
1/8th : 9.11@75.41mph
1000 : 11.98
1/4th : 14.43@91.69mph

Whatcha think?

i say you pop in a 70mm maf from a late model SC if you want a little bit more OMMPPHHHH in your ride.... but decent numbers for the weather.... nicely done...

Thats an excellent time for a Hot day

If you managed 14.43 on a 111 day

I think you could easily pull off a High 13 second run with a a 5% pulley And intercooler fan with a nice cool night

Nice times but you need a intercooler fan because your mph is falling down after 1/8th.You should pick up around 20 mph from 1/8th to 1/4 mile.I run almost same # as you did 14.4 @94.75 but I gained 20 mph after 1/8-th.

Do you guys think i'll be able to get into the low 13's with a 2.8" pulley, Kooks LT's, Off road 3" X and a 3" exhaust?

yes but go with the bigger maf so you can move more air.... you can pick up the bigger 70mm mafs at the junkyard for cheap...

with that amount of mods thats a awsome time

Dark,

Would it be better to go with an 80mm MAF? What is the biggest TB we can fit in the stocker's place?

With some good porting and transitioning you can run up to a 75mm TB on a ported stock inlet

Wow just a cone filter, convertor, and computer tune got you 14.4's in 111 degree heat. Not bad at all.

I'd say get a 76mm MAF $150, 3.73 or 4.10 gears ($130 www.mustangtuning.com), an IC fan, and a 5% pulley, and catless or high flow cats and an exhaust and you should be mid to low 13's. If you port the outlet of the stock exhaust manifolds you won't need the headers unless you really want them. I also don't think you NEED a larger throttle body just yet.

What tires are you using? Any weight reduction mods? You might benefit a little from a raised supercharger top as the stock one pinches off the airflow.

I think a cam, bigger injectors, and a ported late model blower or MP3 would seriously wake up your car.

What brand convertor are you running? Locking or non locking? Shift kit or lentech valvebody?

Your car runs damn good for the little bit of stuff you have on it. Congrats.

After looking around on the web i ordered an A O dominator package from Ford-AODe.com. It's a performance rebuild with the 4R70W gearset and an 800hp billet converter. Been told this tranny is rated up to 750 horsepower so it'll pretty much take whatever i throw at it.

Tires on the car are simply very sticky BFG G-force T/A's. No weight reduction but i have removed the leather interior in favor of cloth. That saves some weight but not that much.

I'm 100% sure i'm doing kooks LT's but they're pretty damn pricey. How bad would it be to run just an off road X and a 3" exhaust? Could i still run a 2.8" pulley with the stock manifolds?

But first things first. I want to go to a 80mm Maf and 42lb injectors with an Intercooler fan.

I run a 2.8" pulley with stock manifolds, no cats, and a stock resonator. No rear mufflers.

With the 4R70W gearset you'd be better off with 3.73 gears.

Any problems with running that pulley scott? Hell with the LT's. Just going to order straight pipes and have the local exhaust shop fab me an exhaust.

Has anyone gone lower then a 2.8" with stock manifolds?

No probs. I have a cold air intake, and only see about 12 psi.

I'm going to be going with ported manifolds and a flowmaster resonator and straight pipes.

You gotta put a resonator on it or it will sound like crap. Search for Terminator resonator see what you find, those sound good, I believe they are truck mufflers but many have used as a resonator with good results.

Only 12 psi with a 2.8"? Very nice. Our stock static compression is 8.2:1 right? I wonder what a 2.7" pulley would do for Psi? I imagine add a pound, pound and a half.

What's our stock fuel system rated too?

Anyone offer machined snouts for our M90's?

If you stick with the stock IC setup, you will quickly reach a point of no return for power and even hurt performance because the M90 will quickly become just a big heat pump when over driving it.

It might get 13-14 psi up higher in the rev range. I don't floor it much, nor do I redline it.

I know it see's 10 psi at low rpms when I put my foot about 1/2 to 3/4 into it where it used to see about 5-7 at the same pedal amount.

Oh well it didn't make the car feel much faster but I think it pulls timing up top and with the summer heat the car is a slouch no matter what.
