well its a good thing I didn't sell I took the car out today for a small drive and when I got home the anti-freeze was pouring out of the rad like ~~~~ I thought there was only a pin hole size leak but I am guessing not so I am in need of a replacement rad and has to be cheap anyone have any idea where I could get one? so the car is parked until I find a replacement :( I am in need ASAP.

Geez, this car has been a nightmare. No wonder you have no buyers after all the problems you have posted about in the very short time that you have been here.
Make sure it's not the hoses itself, or the water pump.

I thought you posted elsewhere that you just had the rad fixed????
Maybe you should take it back to them.

I tryed there like well its a 50/50 chance it will work I paid 33$ to have it soldered and pressure tested lol its not the hoses I see it spraying when it warms up these are the only 2 probs
but yah I know what u mean :P lol its cause my girlfriend drove ti for a year after it was sitting for a year and she never had any problems other then the AC and drivers window I get it and everything starts to go lol jeez
I need to find a rad by tommorow so I can get this installed :)

Damn, you've had bad luck. Let me see what I can do. I am swapping my engine in a few days. And I will not need my rad anymore. Gimme till' the end of the day if you can. I'll find out if I can have another car to drive around.

should I try soldering it again myself? I don;t know if it is leaking from anywhere else other then these pin sized holes, If not I am going to get one from brian.

If the pin-sized holes are in the top tank, near where the upper rad hose neck is, then I would suggest you drain the coolant down a little, clean up the area really good, and then use some "JB Weld" to seal things up. You can even sand it later and shoot it with some flat-black Tremclad to hide the fact it was done.
...Would probably get you by for a little while longer.

If you can find your way up to Barrie with the rad I am a licensed plumber with a lot of experience soldering on different types of copper/brass/etc... I could fix that up real nice for you...

You shouldn't need to drain the whole system, just a couple of inches so you can solder...
Darkwhite
07-31-2006, 10:47 PM
ok never drained a coolant system though so wouldn;t knwo where to start LMAO :P I wanted to take the upper rad hose off because its pretty close

There is probably a drain valve on one of the lower side tanks on your rad. It's just a small valve that you can turn to drain. Take off the rad cap and then open that valve, watch the level and turn the valve back off when its at the desired level.
