Help! Anyone that polished theird own SC Top

I have done it 4 times and there are little pits that just wont come out. I have started over 4 times and they are still there. I even grinded it down and there seemd to be more popping up. Is the alimunium that porous. Any pointers. Maybe my steps are wrong. I did the following and it had a nice shine but still not as polished as i have seen

60 Grit
200 Grit
400 Grit
1000 Grit
1500 Grit
Brown(red) Rouge
White Rouge.

What needs to be added, changed, removed. Thanks for the help.

Yes the alum. is that porous on some of them better off to get it cromed
