The old beast has been growling for quite some time and I do have the Walbro 190lph with new sock sitting in a box. It's time I did this especially since I have that 10 percent SC pulley and the 70mm TB coming soon.
How is next weekend for some assistance?
Ryan can we use your outside environment fresh air shop??
Maybe Sean(I think that's his name, the guy I helped with is upper control arm) can give us a hand.
Ed I need a new gasket for that tank and I may as well get a new electrical harness for the fuel pump, no doubt the old one may crumble in my hands. Is there such a thing as replacement tank straps and shield?

And a new TB gasket for port matching the inlet...

Les,
I'm out of town at a cottage next weekend, so I won't be able to help you out.
Hey guys, do you remember which side of caliper bracket we can't any longer get from Ford for the Lincoln brake upgrade? I saw a right side bracket at a wrecker yesterday, but the left was already gone.
Thanks,
Sean

Les, I can get you a new pump o-ring no problem, the electrical connector I'll have to check which type it is. Ford usually doesn't sell those separately, but I should be a ble to get an aftermarket one. The shield and the straps are discontinued from Ford already for the 91 and older style tank according to the catalogue card I'm looking at here at home, I'll confirm that Monday. Probably have to go aftermarket on that too.
Sean, I think it was the left side caliper bracket that could still be ordered for the Mark 8, I'll check that next week as well.
cheers

Not to worry, if it's moaned and groaned this long it'll last a few more weeks. Let me know what's happening cuz I'll be old fart bachelor for the next couple of weeks and will be going nuts sitting at home with only 4 walls and the GD cat...lol.

Les,
If you postpone your fuel pump change, then perhaps we can return to our previous plan to do both yours and mine on a particular date?! Maybe we can think about renting that bay again and making use of all the equipment (including the hoist). I'm looking to pick up a newer style fuel tank, which may mean I have to deal with the exhaust system modification just to get me by until I can get the whole system upgraded.
Bill tells me that Steve (Clark???) got a primo system done for a very reasonable price recently. I'm anxious to hear/see details.
Best regards,
Sean

Sean/Les,
Where did you get your fuel pump and how much? I have been contemplating an upgrade and if you guys are thinking about renting a bay then maybe I can pitch in with you guys.

Sean that still sounds like a good idea. Ryan will help and Matt has done one already and I'm sure we can get him to pitch in as well. A hoist would be ideal compared to laying on the ground with the car on ramps I must say.
I have to get this done pronto...it's I have that 70mm throttle body coming and I'm getting nervous with that old growler still in there with all the mods I have done.
Steve check out the site Tazer mentioned, it's US prices but best prices you'll ever find on fuel pumps. Sean got his from there and they include everything you need, new sock and installation hardware...like a complete kit.

hey guys i just changed my fuel pump last night. two guys about 1.5hrs start to finish. no big deal. i bought a new gasket and ring but did not really need them, but it is good idea to change. i did not drop the tank to the floor. i simply put a stand under the car, on the hoist, lowered the tank and did the conversion. now the only this left to do is the exhaust and i'm styling.
that's my 2 cents

Hey Ryan I figured you would not be around at all this weekend cuz of hockey so I never got the seal and ring from Ed for the tank. I also committed to WORK tomorrow at a fellow lady co-workers house along with another guy from HP....damn.
Not doing anything Sunday if ya wanna just fart around.
Next weekend would be ideal, I really want that damned thing in before the Labour Day thing at St Thomas I am so pushing my luck with the old one. I have no problem doing the Rent-A-Bay thing in Hamiltom. not sure what kind of equipment they have...or not.
Steve I'm hoping we can just tip one end of the tank too and not to remove the whole damned thing.

Give me a call or an e-mail if you would like me to grab that stuff for you ...

oh ya the meeting on Sunday,,,duhhhhhhhhhhhhh I clean forgot about that..lol.
Ed that's kind of out of your way to get that stuff, if your not busy and have the time sure that would be great. Next week is a bear at work again so me getting to Bolton would be tough. Allthough there will be a Wednesday meet in the east end to get things back on track.
