Broken raised top

Well the collar nut on my raised top today just completly cracked down the middle. I was wondering if i can rip off the collar nut and run a rubber connector with some clamp's. Rubber connector as in what you use for like a cold air intake between the MAF and intake tube.

Would that work with the stock intercooler tube? Im preety sure i have seen it done before but im not sure how long/well it lasted

The intake rubber connectors are not what you want. You want the stronger ones that are for forced induction. Try http://www.turbohoses.com/couplers.htm
P.S. The collar on the blower top, under the nut, hass TWO grooves in it... one on top and one on the botton!! I filled mine with JB weld and sanded flat and smooth. Give you 2 guesses on how I found that second groove :D

Another option is to remove the collar on the top and replace the nut with one from another top. I've never tried to remove one of those collars though so I can't comment on how easy/difficult that will be to achieve.

I KNOW it is bigger than 3", but not sure how big. I will have mine appart tonight reworking my liquid to air intercooler setup. I will measure it and let you know.
