I am located in Hickory, NC. I am just looking for fellow SC owners to associate with as most people in the area have little or no appreciation for these cars.

Salisbury here and you are right most people in NC have no clue as to what these things are or can do. I also know a guy here in salisbury with an 90 SC XR7 and a 91 T bird SC. I also work with a guy that has 3 SC's one for parts and two to drive. I recently went to the international thunderbird clubs thing here in Salisbury (mid august) and there was allot of old and new birds some in the middle but not many. I think I was the only one there with an SC I only went for one day so I am not sure. Hell I was going to drive one and my girlfriend was going to drive the other one but my 92 5spd was side lined with a bad balancer so I only got to take the 94 auto up there. I was planing on giving them a smoke show to bad some of the older folks would have loved it I am sure. As for you 'The Big E' I might need to get in touch with you soon I think I blew a head gasket on my 94 do not know yet. I have read some of your post and it seems as if you have skills I might need to pick your brain or borrow a clue!:D

We are up here in VA, not too far away. If you need some help, parts, or info let us know.

I wish I knew that you were going......

I was gonna go, but decided not to at the last minute.....

I figured I would have been the only SC there, as well.....

If your 94 has bad head gaskets, bring it on down.....

Dave will give you the best head job for a great price.....:D

E you should have went there was allot of sweet rides there and you would have not been the only SC there that was me. If you would have showed up There would have been two of us. Stength in numbers:) .
Most of the people there were wealthy older people and I stuck out real bad it was still cool seeing all of those cars in one spot. I give you a call today about the heads and who is this Dave guy is he the man.

He has worked wonders on quite a few SCs.....

He takes the time to do the job right......

10-11-2006, 09:10 AM
Mine might be the next he repairs, if I can get it to him :D

10-11-2006, 09:58 AM
Here is what we have lined up for right now.....

He has my 93 in the shop getting the HB and water pump replaced......

Then my 92 needs head gaskets and who knows what else....

Then the 89 will get a new engine....

Not to mention the 90 that might be getting the ABS brake conversion.....

Just let me know when you want to do it and we will escort you to the front of the line.....:D

10-11-2006, 11:55 AM
Wow! Are you on a 30 year payment plan with him? :D

Check your PMs, hopefully we can get together when convenient for you and tow mine down to him. No huge hurry, so please get yours fixed if you need them to drive :D

I also need to pick through some of your parts cars, I think....that might help fund repairs on your fleet of sick SC's, hehe

10-11-2006, 11:59 AM
I am trading him an XR-7 and an SC for labor on some of the repairs......

Just let me know when you want to do it and we'll take care of the rest.....

Allright The big E I dumped the oil on the 94 and I had chocolate milk I also had white goo on the back of the oil cap. So the H/G's are bad I am going to have to figure out what I what to do. If this was not bad enough my 92 started acting up and threw a 217 code at me. So now I think the DIS is gone. If you or anyone else close has a spare good one I could check on it to make sure that is the problem let me know. It would piss me off to no end to spend 200+ dollars and have that not be the problem. I will get a hold of you about head gaskets. 98blueoval if you need any help let me know I will do what I can I am only right down the road.

10-17-2006, 08:57 AM
Don't start the 94 up......

You are not that far away and I can come pick it up with my dolly....:D

Can you drive the 92 down here......

If you can, come on down and I'll take one off my parts cars and see if it fixes your problem......

The 94 does not knock or smoke but you are right I do not want to drive or start it. If I do I will be doing the bottom end also and I do not want that. The 92 will not make it there either it is acting like its running on four or five cylinders. If you have any other thoughts let me know:( I am so bummed out I have to at least get my 92 running right by next monday. My92 is falling apart quicker than I can afford to fix it. I will check and clean the wires on the DIS and put new heatsink down and see if it helps it but I doubt it. sucks to be me right now I guess

LOL..You think you have had bad luck...My silverado 4x4 the trans started acting up.Looking at a bill ranging from anywhere from 700 to 1200 to get it rebuilt..I broke my tbird at the track last week..most likely a broke rod..my 98 stang is down re-doing the exhaust so it will pass inspection and on top of all that was laid off at work friday night..So dont feel so bad, and im stuck with riding my bike now.which with the cool weather isnt all that fun

Yeah I hear you when it rains it pours. This 94 I found by luck (or not) I was cutting through Kannapolis NC in March and stopped at a drug store for some BC powder and there was a little car lot next door and my Girlfriend was like there is another SC I was like lets go check it out. We did and the car was cherry on the inside and out. The guy said he wanted $3,950 she drove it a few miles and she was hooked. I spent an hour explaining all the problems with the cars and she knows how much money I have spent on mine over the years But she wanted it. I said now I will have my revenge all the bitching she did about all the time and money I have spent on my car she will see why. Anyway got it home and she drove it for two days and it was pissing transmission fluid so after talking with another member (thanks allen) I pulled the trans and fixed that. I work six days a week second shift so pulling the trans and changing the motor mounts on my one day off was a long process. I got that done and she has been driving it for two months and now the Head gaskets blew. She does not want to drive anything else so now she knows how I felt all the times when my car went down. Revenge is mine! These SC's are a real labor of love and it is a GREAT thing we have these forums and other members who do their best to help. Without others helping allot time and money would have been wasted by a good many people.

E I got a DIS off of e bay last night and should have it by the weekend (I hope). I changed the IAC so I know it was not that. I diconected the battery and cleared the codes and started it up and waited for a second or two and the check engine light came on and she choked up to about 500rpms and threw a 217 Coil 3 primary circuit failure (DIS) and that was stored in the Continuous Memory. I will see what it does after I change out the dis and I will let you know from there. I need to run down there and get up with you sooner or later anyway. The last time I spoke to you I explained my time problems. Work is killing me I only have sundays free. I am down by you allot on sunday on Harris running to best buy and then down to Sugar creek so maybe we can meet up and have lunch and talk more about these H/G's on my 94 one day. Do you know anyone the does reasonably priced paint work. My 92 look real ROUGH ( early 90's black ford go figure) so That is another thing I need to get done. let me know
