A stock bird will let you hold second...Ride first gear in 1 till redline or when u want to shift.click it up to D then back down to 1, will let you hold second then click back to D for 3rd, then click to OD for 4th....just dont know how long a stock tranny will do this till its gone... Ive done it in my 93sc auto...but since swapped to a 5spd

doing the 1-D-1 shuffle will ruin an auto... when you shift it in D its going to shift to second, by shifting back to 1 it will hold second, but the trany will be engaging 1st and 2nd and the same time causing extreme wear... sure you can do it and it will work to hold second, its not recommend though and it will take out your trany, just a matter of time
