My car is a '93 Supercoupe with a 5 spd.

what does it weigh and what is the stock rearend gear ratio?

I'm about to rebuild the engine too.

Are there aftermarket camshafts availble for this engine?

how had the best prices on headers?

Thanks.

Rob

The weight of these cars is a little hard to pin down. I've seen numbers ranging from 3800-4000 pounds. The normal 5 speed stock rear end ratio is 2.73:1. You can verify this by looking at the sticker in the driver's side door jamb. Under the "AX" heading there should be a code "M" signifying the Trak-Lok 2.73. Anything else and post it and I can tell you what it is. I have yet to see a 5 speed with anything but a 2.73 from the factory. There are no "new" aftermarket camshafts available for our engine. The best we can do is a regrind. Most of the major cam manufacturers offer this (Crane and Comp come to mind). There is only one true aftermarket set of headers designed specifically for our chassis. They are made by Kooks and marketed by supercoupeperformance.com. They are kind of pricey however. There are alternatives to headers. Many have hogged out their factory cast iron pieces at the collector area. This appears to be the biggest bottleneck in the manifold. You should be able to open this up to almost 2". Or you can try a set of '99+ 3.8 Mustang headers. Several members have successfully installed these on their cars with some minor "modifications".

Since you mentioned that supercoupeperformance.com, I saw this picture on there:

Is this Tom Champagne's car? I'm assuming these are aftermarket rims, or did they come off of another Ford, or TBird optional (haven't seen them on any other SC's)?

Hey Bill,

I noticed that you're from Jackson. I'm from Greenville...about 1.5 hr. north on Vicksburg on hwy. 61.

Take care.

Hey Rob,
I'm somewhat familiar with the Delta. Lived in Yazoo City for a year too. Not many folks on here from this area, it seems. We head to TX sometimes for 4 wheeling; in fact we were out there a week ago in Gilmer. Let me know if you see a car for me out that way, would you? Not much to find here.

:)

Gilmer is about 40 miles from me.

I'll keep my eyes peeled.

that would be "pealed".

Pretty sure that car in the picture is Bill Evanoff's. The rims are the popular SC add on Cobra R's available from several aftermarket sources.

Odd that this would come up right after I posted that picture. I'm looking all over for my car to buy. I hate it when sellers don't post a picture of their own car, but post a picture of someone else's. On Auto Trader, I ran across the exact same picture I posted above.

Questionable seller (http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/vdetail.jtmpl?&drive=&certified=&max_price=6000&start_year=1991&end_year=1995&address=39047&body_style=&only_price=&search_type=used&make=FORD&engine=&model=TBIRD&car_id=97486951&min_price=2500&distance=any&fuel=&dealer_id=11503707&advcd_on=n&advanced=n&first_record=301&transmission=&doors=&max_mileage=&LNX=ESTAFVDPGTEXTLNK)

I'm sorry, I guess there's a slight chance he has the exact same car, parked it in the exact same spot and same rims, but that's pretty thin. Could be that it's his car on www.supercoupeperformance.com. If not, however, if you're going to post your car for sale with a picture on the internet, POST YOUR OWN CAR! Or don't put one up at all. That's deceptive. Plus, he explains away the fact that this car won't come with those rims by saying "rims are already sold." If I'm doing this guy wrong, I'll apologize, but this looks like plain and simple BS at best, and legally questionable at worst. Sent an email but not reply as of yet.

The car that was pictured IS Bill Evanoff's SC. It even has his license plate on it. Unless Bill is selling his SC (which he is not) than that seller is deceptive. Those wheels are actual prototype SVT Cobra wheels.

I asked the seller if that was his SC, that it looked like one I'd seen on a website. Sent me a reply that the car "was sold."
