Ok im relaying this problem for a buddy his SC would idle around 1500 RPMs so he disconneced the IAC and it dropped to about 500 RPMs so he went and bought a new one and now it idles at 4000RPMs:confused:  any ideas? he already disconnected the battery and let it relearn....any ideas anyone?

well i dont know exactly....however long it took to change all the belts:eek:

#EDIT: He lives in Rochester MN i only communicate with him through phone calls

Can the IAC even let the car run that fast?

I'd make sure that the throttle wasn't stuck open somehow...I'm sure you already checked that though!

I don't know this for sure...but you might be able to unbolt it from the TB and block off the holes in the TB...then watch the little valve inside of the IAC as the car tries to adjust the the idle speed. If the IAC is where the problem is occuring, it should be wide open!

Hope the silly thoughts are of use...
