I have a 94 5spd, basically stock.
Last week i had an exhaust shop in town here cut out my cats, put a magnaflow resonator in, and i can feel a huge difference when its running right..
Every now and again (moreso when hot?) i will take off in 1st, or if im turning and accelerate in 2nd it will feel extremely doggy for a couple seconds, and then come out of it and break my neck with very little change in pedal. You can feel it pull out of the hesitation, it takes about a second or two.
CEL comes on and off every 2-3 mins, it has never done either of these things before the exhaust. Have not read the code yet.
Do you guys think it could be EGR choking motor out? fuel mileage also does not seem good. I think i may run some top engine cleaner through the intake, clean TB, MAF, maybe fuel injector clean. see if that helps
