Bought a 04 Impala SS, Indy 500 edition for my wife. It has the supercharged 3.8 and is decently quick. Anyone heard of after market mods for these cars. I think the car has lots of potential to be an awesome street sleeper. It looks exactly like my buddies GTP under the hood. Could I get this car into the 13s for not much money? Would it even be worth it. We already ran it against my SC from a roll and I wasted it. I think if we did it from a stop it would be even worse. I just want something I can take to the track and surprise the ricers with. They already know my SC aint no joke!

I know there are some places that you can get smaller supercharger pulleys and stuff from. I looked it up when my mom had her 1998 Bonneville SSEi. When we bought it, it already had a smaller supercharger pulley installed on it and the thing hauled ~~~. You just got to do some Googling, thats all. It might take a while, but you'll eventually find something. Try 3800 V6 Performance [parts] as keywords.

i take it there is no water to air cooler in it? i mean you couldnt really overdrive the sc alot because then u would risk detonation and what not. you need to visit the GTP forums see whats up over-there.

Nice car, you should be able to do almost everything you van do to the gtp's, which is a lot. Check out the gtp forum for sure.

The Impalla is lighter then the GTP I believe so it shouldnt be hard to reach your goal of 13s Id start with a 3.4 pulley (nothing smaller unless you do headers or port manifolds) A DHP pcm with their upgrades a CAI and of course EXHAUST WORK

You should be able to get the car to mid to high 13s for much less then 1000.00 go to www ClubGP.com there is alot of good info there

I got the girlfriends gtp to 14.08 with a 3.4 pulley, intake, and downpipe. The impala should respond the same. Go to clubgp.com for some pointers. These guys get crazy nuts with these cars, and some aftermarket heads just hit the marketplace. They already have several m90 cars going 11's and turbo cars are just sick.

Edit: Do intake/exhaust before a pulley. They are really sensitive to knock. And leave the stock cat back on it. All of the others sound like poo. The stock one will take you in to the 12's!!!

Thanks for all the feed-back. Looks like this will be my next project after I get the front mount done on the SC.

The intake, d/p and DHP should be first. After that you can throw on a 3.4, a 180 t-stat and one range colder plugs. And while your at it, get a scanner so you can scan for kr. Clubgp.com will have all the info you'll need.

Scan for knock before adding a pulley. An ecm isn't all that needed for that level of mods.
