Hi,
I'm looking for a two post car lift system with lower profile columns 7.5-8 foot high but I'v been unable to locate them. Does anybody know of any?

I'm currently shopping for a 4 post lift to go in the new garage. Anyway, I'll post a couple of links that may have some 2 post lifts too.
http://www.directlift.com/auto_lifts/index.html

http://www.mohawklifts.com/consumer/2post.php
http://www.rotarylift.com (http://www.rotarylift.com/products/Product_Detail/Product_Detail.asp?PN=Two-Post&CAT=Professional%20Automotive%20Service)
The 3rd link seemed to have shorter posts, but unfortunately it also has a section that sticks above the post to tie the 2 post together. All of the 2 post lifts I have seen have a connector between the two post that is usually somewhere around 10' above the ground.

A two post lift has two columns with either a cross beam above the columns or on the floor. My problem is I have an eight foot ceiling in my garage and most of the columns I find are 111" or more. I don't want to install and four post parking lift (which has shorter columns) because it would be a waste of money for me and be too restrictive.

If you can find a two post with the cross beam on the bottom, can you locate the lift so the post go through the ceilling between the joists? Although, if you don't have attic space above your garage, I'm sure that's not an option. Plus, have you considered that the concrete requirements for 4 posts aren't as great as the requirements for two post lifts?
For me, I know the 4 post isn't the best option for working on cars, but the primary use for me will be stacking cars :D

Well I'm just going to abandon the idea all together and continue to use my drive on ramps. Maybe if I ever get the funds together to build a new detached garage I'll revisit the lift issue.
