Howdy all.
Picked this up several months ago.
Still working on it (especially need drivers side 'SC' rub molding and JBL stereo).
Runs and drives well but needs front paintwork.
Fully optioned minus leather and spilt folding rear seat.
Is an auto trans and has moon roof.
Oxford White with Currant Red cloth.
Almost 200k miles, second engine I believe.
I remember when these came out but I could not afford one.

My other Cougar is a 1968 that I picked up in 1982.
It's currently undergoing a 'restomod' transformation.
I'm also into the Gen 1 SHO's (89-91).

Would like to meet other XR7 owners nearby, PM me.
Later.
Kevin.

Nice job so far. You probably saved that car from being sold down the river and eventually junked. Keep an eye on the buy/sell boards and ebay for that rub molding. They can be tough to find especially since they are color coded. I just picked up a set of the red moldings a month or so ago for $15.

Thanks for the complement.
I’m surprised by the minimal amount of rust.
For the state of PA and 200k miles I expected far worse.
I’ve been searching for 3 months for the rub molding.

Bird(s) Crap On Cat

Had my 89 parked under a tree for 3 or 4 months.
Sad to say, I had it looking quite good prior.

Looks good after a severe wash but still needs waxing.

Yep looks much better after the wash! ... I hope you threw away the wash rag that you cleaned it with!:D

Wow looks good! looks alot like my 90 oxford white cougar. And im located in Tioga pa near the ny border. And there are a few others on here from pa so welcome!

Thanks guys.
After four months I finally installed my door hinge repair pins + bushing.
To the lower hinges only.
Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Now I need a battery and a serpentine belt.

I have a 89 XR-7 Oxford White, Blue leather, with every option....5 Speed of course. Its been in my family sine new and has been sitting in a garage for the last 10 years!.The car is in very good shape and has less the 65 K. So far I have replaced the clutch, replace the rad, replaced the entire AC system and of course a full tune up with new belts and battery.Evrything works 100% and I love this car , its more of a toy. I have plans to do a Full restoration and it barley needs it. Glad to see one more being saved, I had no idea how rare the car really is.
