Where is the key-in-ignition buzzer located? Mine does not work, and I need to fix ASAP -- keys left in the ignition when driver's door is open does not trigger any audible chime or alert.

It may not be the buzzer, but the contact at the ignition lock cylinder. They are famous for breaking or sliding out? have you had the lock cylinder out recently? It is a little contact that is one wire that slides into the round part that the cylinder slides into.

Thanks for the responses -- is the key-in-ignition "chimer" the same one used for the "door-ajar" chime?

I presume that this chime is ALSO the same one for the "headlights left on" audible notification?

Would make sense, since none of these audible alerts are working.

on my 90 auto the wire for the door chime was in the steering column, below the ignition swith. it was one black wire with a connector in the middle. i just unplugged it.
