Just a simple question....

How much money or what would it take to part with your SC?

Me? it would take a lot of $$$ in order for me to give up the SC, not that it's worth mega dollars... but I REALLY enjoy the car 100%.

Someone would have to offer me 10k or more to get rid of it. I hope my SC doesn't find out about this.. i don't need any more problems.. hehe

anything over market value, then i would just turn around and buy another one and pocket the difference. (that is of course if it was a bone stock SC). For mine it would have to be enough to cover the price of ALL the mods and original purchase price.

My dad asked me that the other day. I answered $15K. But that is only today. In a couple years it will go up because I plan to keep the car up or improve it as long as I drive it and the value of these cars is increasing. In 5 years the price would likely be closer to $25K.

Until some significant technological breakthrough comes along that totally obsolete's these cars I'll still be driving them. :)

i agree with dave, right now i wouldn't get rid of my black 94' sc but the other 94' sc and 89' sc that i have i might let go for the right price.5 years from now i think the price of these cars will go up significantly.

For me to get rid of my road racer SC I'd need around 12k at least. With all the work thats gone into it and once its running here in about 2-3 months it should be well worth that much or more.

I would be nuts to turn down $15k or possibly even $12.5K for mine. So, I suppose anything around that and I'd be into something else...which may happen anyway.

I'd give up both SC's plus some of my other toys for a new ZO6......
Anybody want to trade?;)

I don't know that I could honestly part with my 91 with it being my first car. I seriously think I would kick myself I was to sell it, even for some insane amount of money. Unless I knew it was going to a good home and would be taken care of. If it wasn't my first car, I'd try for twice what I got in it :D In other words, now - I'd want about $18k.

I had to watch my first car, the original "racecougar" (89 LS) go to the crusher about a month ago. :( I actually built my XR7 as my "what I always wanted the 89 LS to be" car.

See that's not fair. Money is one thing I can resist, but a car like that..... Sheet, I'd even take a new Shelby, bigger car is more my style anyway. :D

I can't really imagine selling either of mine. I don't really care about the money or the value of the cars. I just think they are still one of the coolest looking cars on the road.

Still striving to get to that point! Must be nice! Although I have both my nutz in another motor.

AGAIN...........I can't seem to learn.

Right now, just because I need the money, I would take what I paid for my 93. 4500 and its not original anymore. In a couple of years, you couldn't pry the steering wheel from my cold dead fingers, I will be buried in it.:D

I have to agree with this statement

"I can't really imagine selling either of mine. I don't really care about the money or the value of the cars. I just think they are still one of the coolest looking cars on the road. "

I agree with that as well as the money doesn't much matter and they still look very cool. But the deal in my house is...no more toys until I start giving up some, so in order to get a cooler car, that one would have to go.

So anyone want an all original 1989 SC M5R2 with 27,000 miles on it (driven only once in the rain at Carlisle to the fairgrounds)?

Thought so...:(

This question came up about a week ago. I was looking at buying a new toy, but I'd need to make room for it!!!!

I'd have to have about $10k for the '93. But it has a lot of new parts. The car has just 122k on it and other than two small dings and a scratch or two it' still pretty nice.

The only way I'd sell the '91 is to swap the drivetrain back to stock first. Then it could go for 3k. If I do the body and paint this winter, add $2500.

The "Project" 90 XR7, $2000, but it needs a lot of work.

Skip,

What I meant by not caring about the money is, even if I could sell the cars for $45K each I wouldn't use the money to go buy something else. There's no other car I was even remotely interested in except for the SRT8 Charger, and we already have one of those. A v10 BMW M5 or whatever it's called might be cool and so would a Mercedes E-55AMG. But even if I could afford it, I probably wouldn't buy one. I just can't see myself having nearly as much fun with those cars, and I really can't imagine hanging out with those high brow snooty type owners of those cars. You guys are much cooler.

I would most likely end up buying another SC and then start modding it all over again. Of course it would have to be something really cool like a Shelby GT500 motor in an early model SC, with a 6 speed manual transmission :D .

I Cant see me selling mine or my wifes either. I have always like the looks of these T-birds and cant think of a better looking car. Of course that is just my opinion. Besides that it is such a "sleeper".......

Well, I've only had mine a month (94 auto 68k) but i'd trade it for a 90 Anniv 5 Sp in a heartbeat! Other than that it'd have to be an offer I couldnt pass down:)
