Al, Since I have been out of action for a spell, I don't have a firm idea as to who will race and who will not race? Do you know the order of the qualifiers?
I have told Jim that I want to go first...if that's all right with you guys?

sounds good to me!
as of right now running will be:
John
Mike
Mercury (if he gets done intime)
Ron (you :D)
Me in the 35th
Jose (Jacsxr7, maybe)
and last but not least Hank.
Hank is the guy I was talking to you about today. We saw him a few weeks back at Palmdale running 11.8's. His car is awesome, it is a 1995 auto, he is on a CMRE stage 2 engine, with 42 lbs injectors, mp throttle body with inlet plenum, sweet s-style ported blower, custom front mount intercooler, and a 200 shot of nitrous (i think he said it was a wet system), shortie headers, custom bassani exhaust, behind a fully rebuilt jerry moded auto tranny and a rear end with 3.73's. His supension is hooked up and he was on 14 inch slicks. Full roll cage. I knew when he put on his helmet that he was gonna be quick. I'm telling you this guy's SC is insane. He was having traction problems and had to detune and that was when he ran the 11.8 (running 12.2's before that and looked pretty pissed). Never sprayed the NO2 since he said there was no need because it wouldn't hook up and would actually slow down his e/t. One helluva nice guy too, he lives out in West Covina and does Aerospace stuff for TRW. I told him about going to bakersfield on the 24'th and he says he would definitely go. He seemed really interested in seeing John's car and the inverted and water cooled setup if manny and merc were to go. Told him how Jim claimed to be the king...but he said he knows guys going faster than 13's on SC's.

You told me about the mods but not about his run.
Does he want to join our club? If he can't come to Bakersfield, it would be cool to have him start coming to the various meets.
It would be nice to plug into his set-up.
Is this the guy you said you met at LA County Raceway when you were dialing in you SC? I don't think you mentioned a name.
Are you pulling my leg on his motor and stuff Al?

No way ron, this guy is LEGIT! Yes thats the guy I was telling you about at LACR. He says he is not too into clubs but he would like to roll with us when we go to the track just to run with other birds. I was drueling all over his setup and was kicking myself in the ~~~ for not having the camera with me! Oh well, we will druel in bakersfield together.

I told you I heard a guy was doing low 12's in your neck of the woods, and then big Jim comes along and pooh pooh's it. Good for Hank. Didn't see John's car on the list .....

No disrespect Al, but those numbers are hard to believe. I haven't been to Palmdale in a long time, but I know it is higher in altitude than where we usually race. Factoring that, this guy is a streak of light. Maybe it is the higher altitude than West Covina that was killing him. I need so see that motor before I say he is not illegal.
Tell him he is welcome to join us at Bakersfield. If he rather not represent anyone, I am sure we can arrange a few runs with our big boys.

I know about the altitude at LACR, why do you think I didnt post my time slip this time :D shhhh lol. Hanks' engine looked legit to me, still SC block, still M-90. I did tell him about the whipple charger Embree and Davenport were working on and he seemed interested. Also, he said he just wants to show up and race with other birds, he feels lonely at the track

Al is very observant. There are Coy Miller's heads on my machine, scrounged and reworked. The block is highly modified with custom splayed 4 bolt caps, .040 over and a 3.81 stroke. The 42# injectors are adequate for LACR, but may need to be upgraded for juiceless runs at Bakersfield. The shifts need to be held to 5800 or it will lean out unless the wet kit is active. As Al had said, there are many tuning issues with this car. Mr. Shelton was most convincing that a good time will be had by all. Perhaps I can run out there with him.
V8's were easier, but this is more fun, and more car. How are your rear suspensions holding up at the track ?

Hmmm if this goes down, looks like Mr. Demmitt will get a run for his money. BETTER GET IT TUNED RIGHT MR. BULLET!
