Got a deal on this intercooler "FREE"

I pulled this intercooler off of one of our work trucks that is going to scrap. When I got it off I noticed that the inlet and outlet are rather small. 1 3/4" but the core is pretty big and it's well constructed with an ACT sending unit already installed. Do you think it could be used for a FMIC project??????

I would use that one before I bought an aftermarket type. I would venture to say that those ones are built to withstand 20-40psi of boost for prolonged periods, stoplight-to-stoplight, and city traffic. In theory they shouldn't be as prone to heatsoak as the stock IC.

I'm just a little concerned about the small inlet and outlet. They are only 1- 3/4" I.D. Does anyone know the inside diameter of the stock intercooler inlet and outlet?

You can always cut and weld!..do a search..I think this ic has been talked about before

No luck with the search. Others have used the isuzu NPR intercooler which has wider inlet and outlets.

yeah just have the end tanks cut off and some bigger ones welded on... and pressure tested of course, good find
