Ya myths and legends say it is suposed to increase air which in turn create more HP..If its cut then its bad...I learned the hard way..Cut mine on my Ford Escape mass air..Doesn,t like the cold winter air anymore and hesitates when i give it full throttle from a stop...Oh well ...Lesson learned...

I know they have done it on earlier aluminum 93 cobra type MAFS but I never seen this before on a plastic Lightning one...Dam nabbit

I cut mine on my LX and went a LONG time. No problems so far.

Just wanted to go check, but mine is the exact same way. And it has not been modified.

Exactly Chris. Mine does not look like that as it has about 1/4" cut off!

if i remember correctly mine looked like it was cut but i don't think they ever made the plastic MAFS with a solid post. I bought mine second hand so i don't know if it was modded.

Why would you put a lightning MAF on an SC anyway?

I always say why not:O) Plus I always have my reasons

Chris W. made 390rwhp with one...I'm not looking at nearly that much

And again...That was a stock picture..The one I have had about 1/4" cut off...I'm sending it back however for a refund..No biggie

Plus I paid way under $100 with the adapter for air filter
