Well, that sounds like big fun; I'm marking that on my calander. I'd considering pulling my white '89 out of the shop if I can round up a trailer...

JDGreat. Maybe I'll get some beater tires for the Red car.. or just hold onto my old GT-HRs which will be replaced soon next year anyway. In any case, I'm making plans as well.

I'm not going to do anything wild and get carried away. Just take it nice and easy and get the feel for some banking, corners, and fast straight-aways. It sounds liike large fun, but also a good way to turn a mint, low-mileage SC into a parts car!!!

Tentatively. It's a long time off, and who knows what work will bring. I'll have a better sense as we get inside a month or so. I may just bring my SC driver so I don't have to worry as much about tearing up my "good" one. But, it's an automatic, and wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

Wow, I'm surprised there's actually some activity here. I may actually be interested then, maybe me and JD could caravan. That's assuming I can get my hands on a set of intercooler gaskets within the next 6 months... All I need is a set of intercooler gaskets to get the SC back on the road after finally fixing the radiator, it's been over a month waiting. Wynn, where are you!?

Or, for that matter.., the previous owner of my red car used what looked like window putty  .. It worked  the engine ran. I cleaned it off and used Black Silicon RTV :o as my tube of Copper RTV had hardened up. Its working fine for the time being. I will clean it up and reapply the copper later.

Someone here on the site sells complete teflon sets that he makes - something like $20 shipped. Check eBay - he also lists them there. Supposed to be the cat's @$$.

Does the application limit you to 1 car/1 driver? Can you bring more than 1 car? If you register just 1 car, can 2 drivers trade off driving it?

You can bring more than one car but you will have to register both of them.

Also two drivers can use one car but have to register twice.

hit the little button and turn that overdrive off....you won't be cruising!Actually the problem is it gets stuck in 1st :( But with the last round of work, and swapping out the radiator, it seems to be better. If I say that its fixed, something will break on it again.

Any special safety equipment required? Roll cage? Belt harness? Fire extinguisher? Helmet?

Which track configuration is being used? On the 2 mile oval, thats enough distance to work up some speed and it would affect my decision on which tires to use.

You'll need a helmet. Everything else can be a regular street car.

We'll be running the 2.8 mile. You'll get to run on the bank straight side of the ol' open wheel oval.

Mucho VRRROOOMMMM!!

I'll be running R-compound tires but alot of the guys will be running street z rated performance tires.

:( I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on this event after all. I scrambled and got the AOD patched and installed, but the way things have been acting, I need some highway time on it before I'm comfortable with it on the track. Due to other commitments that I've got to tend to, I've sort of run out of time to get everything ready and work on the car. I'd hate to take it out just to have something else break on me.

Ya'll have a good time and keep me in mind for the next track day.. maybe later this summer?

Good times at TWS!!

We had

3 SHOs, 1 Taurus GL, 2 Probes, 1 Lightning, 1 Infinity, 1 Super Coupe, 1 Contour SVT, 2 Mustangs and one Fushion Rental Car!!

Lots of fun and good times with good buddies.

I enjoyed watching Sergio in the Fushion push a Camero SS around the track until the Camero spun. I wish I had video of that one.

One of the instructors in a Camero SS nose ended his car and totaled it on the track. I think Don has picks of it.

Big kudos to Kirk and Chicago Tony for driving all the way to our little gtg. I hope they had a good time being bastards!

I had a little off road excusion a couple of times in the Probe. One time following Kirk and Sergio and I entered a corner too late at about 80 on the back straight. I spun hard and landed off in some farm land. That was a butt pucker moment.

Other than a few "bumps" I think everything went very well and mucho fun!

We'll do it again next year!
