Jeremy Clarkson - The Good The Bad The Ugly DVD

Top Gear is a great show, but I don't have to tell you how Jeremy Clarkson bashes American cars on the show. I just watched this DVD and I must say, he's too one sided. They test all the latest cars. Rousch Stage 3, Viper, 300C SRT8, Z06 Corvette and others. It's basically an us against them. I don't know if any of you have seen it, but I didn't think pitting a Cadillac Escalade against a Range Rover in an offroad contest was a fair match. I'm sure there is a better American match....right?

A british personality doing a show for a british audience that has to drive the vehicles in the british country? And you expected what?

I liked the test drive of the Ford Lightning. Or the test drive of the supercars that hardly fit down an alley and couldn't get out of the parking ramp without some wood to improve the approach angle.

Top Gear is in my opinion the best automobile show that is sometimes on U.S. television.

No, I do like the show, but they pit a Hummer H2 and a Cadillac Escalade against a Range Rover in a race to the top of a hill. Now, I'm not into 4 wheeling, but there has to be a better american suv to take on the range rover in that race. They did put a Viper up against a BMW Z4 at Willow Springs for one lap. The viper barely won.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited hemi with the best tires you can get from the factory. It has the power to outrun a Land Rover, and it should have the ability to do it offroad. The SRT-8 would smoke it, but then again it's not really set up for offroad.

Exactly! I knew there was something American that could smoke it. Either way, it wasn't a fair test. How many Escalades see the offroad? lol ;)

Most Escalade's around here have 22 and 24" wheels. Some even have 26" wheels. I don't think they could go through much mud with directional v-tread high performance street tires.
