I am wanting to put dual exhaust on my 98 Z-71(350 vortech) everyone and there brother puts flowmasters on the newer trucks they sound good but i've never liked all the interior resonance, the price or the fact that everyone does it... My factory exhaust is true duals back to the muffler with 2 cats up near the front(one for each side).. I am thinking of first deleting the factory muffler and having dual 2.25 pipes ran on out the back with big stainless tips then... my cats might just (accidently) fall off (no smog here) and put stainless glass packs in there place.. I had that setup on my 72 f100 (351w) and it sounded absolutely wicked... Don't see why any bent 8 wouldn't sound good like that... Had zero interior resonance and it was much louder(exterior) than flowmasters... Then my truck wouldn't sound like every other z71 running around with flowmasters on it... Buddy has glasspacks on his 98 chevy but they sound crappy (he still has cats) kinda like a muffled fart or somthing...
