I know this doesn't have to do with an SC/XR7 but, does anyone happen to know what the name of the module/relay on the newer vehicles that shuts off the radio and interior power when you open the door? So it allows the person to sit in the vehicle and listen to the radio and roll down the windows until they are ready to get out, and then it kills the power. I am trying to problem solve a 1998 sonoma.
Thanks.

On GM vehicles it is called RAP. Retained Accessory Power.

GREAT! Thanks. Do you happen to know exactly HOW the sensor works? It appears that if your a passenger getting out, it works fine. The power gets shut off. HOWEVER, if you are the driver, it doesn't know when you open up your door. Is there more than 1 of them to control each side?

I think there is a switch in each door latch mechanism that signals the BCM when a door is open. Does the dome light come on when the drivers side door is opened? How about if you leave the headlights on and open the drivers door, does that give you a chime?

Hmm..didn't think to check that. Though I do know when I was sitting in the driver seat with the door open there was no chime. However it is not my vehicle so I didn't think to ask if it did it before. I will find out tomorrow though and let you know the results, that should help me narrow it down. I suppose the the whole door panel has to come off in order to get to the switch if it is in there? Thanks again for all the help.
