have a 90 sc with blown head gaskets. i want to do an entire remanufactured engine change. my sbird has 250,000 original miles and i dont want to waste the money on a head gasket fix just to have something else unexpected go out inside the engine in like a month. i have owned this car for 4 years so i know it really well but just looking for some knowledge on who or where to have deal with this type of fix. hey if we can get some of the local hampton roads 'SC guys' together let me know this too...she needs to be on the streets not in the driveway! thanks for any info or help in advance!!!

Keith, I put one of our club business cards on this guy's car over on the base like 3 or 4 years ago! He e-mailed me a couple of days ago & I directed him to our forum here. Hopefully we can get together I give him a hand.

Well, this guy came by my shop last week, i was pretty busy and didnt really have a lot of time to talk to him. He saw my SC sitting out in front of the shop and wanted to know if we'd install an engine for him in his SC. Unfortunately, howard, the guy that owns Protime automotive, gave him an outrageous price (1,500) to install the engine, basically becuase like most other people, who have no passion or patience for messing with our cars, he really didnt want to mess with it. I felt bad for the guy and i told him it would be hard to find someone reliable and competent who wanted to work on it. I would, if it were up to me, but its not. Im merely helping out at protime during the winter months while my business is slowed down...And im only doing that for somewhere assemble my own car!!! Anyway....if you guys know someone... help this guy out. Ive met him and he's a really nice guy who's really wanting his SC back on the road.....Dave

where are you getting your motor from? as far as mechanics go the 2 that come to mind are dave (frdlvr30) and john boardman (toxic281). john's in the process of installing a built motor in his '93sc and dave is doing the same. i'm just a parts changer  shadetree mechanic at best....lol :D

i will get the engine from supercoupeperformance.com-they have the best price/warranty out that ive seen. the warranty says i can bolt pretty much whatever i want to the engine as long as i dont mess with the internals.i will get the install kit local...the kit includes new water pump, belts, hoses, gaskets, etc! i dont intend any upgrades right now(except maybe headers while the engines out)...just a clean swap out. i was told 15 hours is the estimated swap out time....how long does it take for 'us' guys that know these cars? i can supply the garage space/time if any of the SC 'experts' can supply the time. i will take care of them! thank for all the great responses on my SC issue guys so far!!!
