My 1990 Annie 5 speed has finally arrived from California. Took it less time then expected, as they estimated it would be here by the 30th. They called em last friday and I picked it up on Saturday Morning. The battery was dead, as apparently the people who were shipping it (Dependable Auto Shippers $650 coast to coast) could not figure out how to remove the key by pressing the button on the bottom, so they left the car in the "on" position after unloading it. Jumped it and it fired up and loaded it on the dolly and towed her home from Ashland (The dropoff point). It was coated in Fluids (transmission/brake as far as I could tell) as I guess it rode on the bottom of the car hauler.

Today I pulled the ground effects off of it and scrubbed/press washed the fluids off of it to see what I have to work with. If anyone around here is a specialist in body work let me know please. I could use some advice/assistance with it. There is rust on the bottom of each door on the inside. Outside looks fine, but I may find a couple of junkyard ones that are rust free for it, and on the drivers side under the ground effect in front of the rear wheels there was a nice fist sized hole eaten right there. It will require a patch. I've never really done anything like that before, but I've seen it done. No time like the present to learn I reckon... The undercarrige looks like it could use a good scrub as well. Once it warms up some I'll get under there and scrub away and re-paint some stuff under there. As for leaks from the motor, there is one on the pass side, but it looks like it is coming from the valve cover and drips down onto the exhaust manifold. It leaves a few spots on the garage floor.. Transmission left a spot after I parked it, but hasn't seemed to leave any more. Brake fluid resivoir was empty and I had no brakes, but I put some in and it has not seemed to go anywhere and I have some brakes.. Antilock light is on, but I haven't filled up the fluid all the way yet..it took all I had on hand and I haven't bought more yet.

So bottom line, I need assistance with the body repair, and of course I'm looking to go to a junkyard to find some stuff/pieces that are missing out of the interior. The next time someone goes, please let me know as I'd like to tag along with.. I don't know where they are around here. I'm off just about every day (Stay at home dad) so I have the time whenever...

the best junkyard to hit is pic and pull in va beach, the best prices by far and the most organized yard you'll ever see.

Is that the one over there off Southern near Oceana?? Do they let you do your own pulling?? Back where I grew up all the yards you could go to, you tell them you need a window crank or a lock button, and then you wait for them to go out into the yard to pull it for you.. I hate that crap.... I wanna go and see what else there is out there....

Been in the area since 1996. Had an 89 SC 5 speed for a couple of those years, but it was my daily driver and not reliable enough..plus too much $$$ for a new enlistee in the Navy.. Now I am out and was looking for something fun to keep me busy, and along came the SC....
