Hi everyone

I posted in the technical forum without much help for this question. Can I replace the front and rear shocks with stadard shocks that don't have ARC? I pulled the drivers front already, but have not taken it to the shop to get the spring swithced over to the non-arc shock that I already bought. Thanks to the ford dealer north of Toronto who had a price of 550 all around. I will be in touch next year if I can come up with the cash and if the offer still stands. In the meantime, I need something to get me through the next 8 months of school, and I'm at home this week which is why I can't wait for the parts from Ontario. I also broke my stabilizer bar link in the process of trying to remove the top nut that connects to the spindle. What a hassle, 100 bucks for the new one. Well I learned that lesson. Please advise on the front shocks. Spanks.

Colin

Yes you can use regular shocks, I currently have Monroe Sensi-traks all the way around. Make sure you unplug all your ARC actuators and save them, along with the extra mounting bracket and nut for the actuators in case you ever want to put in the adjustable shocks. Flip your ride switch to FIRM and the green light should stay lit all the time.

Thanks Les for the info. Do you have a part number for the rears? Just curious. The parts counter in my city told me that the parts order book talked about frame modifications to get non-arc to fit. I figure it would be easier just to give them a part #. Thanks again Les.

Just use whatever they list in the book for a non-SC T-Bird. The mounting is the same top and bottom, the only difference is that the ARC shocks have the provision for the actuator to clip on.
