I went down to Charlotte yesterday to pic up some SC parts from Eddie (the-big-e). I was able to pick up a 5 speed from him. The trans looks good. Had some grease on it, but a little degreaser and my pressure washer took care of that today. The innards look pretty good, but I would like to have it gone over by a trans shop before I put it in the car. I'm not sure what it has been through, and neither was he. I think he said it came in one of his parts cars (XR7). Anyone know of a good trans shop locally that will go over it for a resonable rate and not rape me???

Try Rick Kelso at Rick's car care and Transmissions. He's located in norfolk. He's an excellent transmission guy. I have personally known him for about 8 years when he moved here from Tennessee and came to work at Freedom Ford. He is a master technician and is one of the best tech's i know (and i know a lot of 'em). He's recently opened his own shop, which is Very nice.

Matt, if you or anyone else needs a tranny guy, or anything high performance related, Rick is the man. He's one of the top mustang/Ford performance guys around. He's got a pretty mean foxbody, big block mustang of his own...He's got a really nice facility. I havent told you guys about him before since he just got up and going at the first of the year. He may be interested in doing engine swaps or anything else too. He's is extremely qualified...trust me. Dont let the fact that he just opened scare you, he's just been doing it out of his home garage until recently...Dave

His shop was really clean, and he is a really nice guy. Asnwered any questions I had about the tranny I dropped off, and called me the next day. Told me he can have it back together ready to go in a couple of days. I told him no rush since I don't even have the motor yet... :)
