Love that black fr500. Do they have those on the preview site?

What tire sizes you recommend? What's the widest on the rear.

Sorry but no...Would have to photo chop them I guess.

For the rears I would recomend 275-40-18 if you want a wide rear. Otherwise a 245-45-18 or 255-45-18 all the way around is a good option. I tend to lean towards the 245-45-18 though.

Keep in mind that you would have to either run airbags in the rear or roll fender lips to keep them from rubbing. Other than that no issues.

I know a fella up the road running 18" stang wheels with 275 and no rubbing in the rear. Not sure of the offset though.
What offset are these?

And glad to see something other than chrome.

This is all old news and well known information though...These wheels are the same spec as all the others. The specs are +36MM 18X9...

A 275MM rear tire is going to rub the fender lip so you simply either roll the lip or use airbags or don't use such a wide tire.;) Like I said though, this is all old news and anyone running a 275MM rear tire will tell ya the same thing.

Glad ya fancy the new options...Thought it was time to spread things out.

i have a set of dante bullitt 17X9's and i think the stick out too far, will the saleen speedstars fit better or will they stick out also? 9 inch wide i think is a little too much for these cars, are the speedstars available in 17X7.5 or 8 ?

The Dante Design wheel was a great fitting wheel. The early mn12's push the wheel out a lil further than the late cars. Also if you run a 245MM front tire it will tuck things in a lil better. Like 245-50-17 being of stock height would be a natural choice if you are sweatin' the look of the fronts.

Lastly...No, there is no other option in that wheel besides 18X9 Chrome or Silver Paint.

Can I have a link to the preview site? and will 245-45-18 fit on a stock sc with out rubbing, or will they look wierd with out eibach's, If so I'd go with eibachs, if they wouldnt rub.

Preview site???

245-45-18 is the perfect tire size for an SC lowered 1.5"...And yes no rubbing even if lowered...I don't care if you are laying frame there is no wheel rub issues with any of my wheels.

So...Yea do the Eibachs or ST's...I have eibachs and have never regreted it.

Did you say laying Frame ???

Any size tire will rub in the rear end's inner wheel well when layed out. :D

Dan....Let keep this in perspective...I said: I don't care if you are laying frame there is no wheel rub issues.

Now if wheel & tire mean the same thing to you then I appolagize...:D

BTW...I have guys running these spec. wheels and laying frame which is why I mentioned that.

Steve,
To lay frame is to drop the car so low that it will rest on the frame. This is done with airbags so they can fill the bags and actually remove the frame from the ground and go...:)

I found the link, for that site that lets you see the wheels on your car in another thread but it didnt work, but as soon as the weather clears up Ill probably take those saleens silver painted if the price stays around there.

There is a Java download link as well. Try that and see if you can get the software to work...?? There have been a few others that had problems running it as well.

Here is a Tbird with Silver Speedstars on it...

LOL .. yeah I know. Some of these terms get thrown around kind of loosely. I have yet to see somebody driving their car on bare rims  But even in that event, there are some size 20" rims ( in the smallest width available, will touch the inner fender well while layed out completely even without tires on a mocked setup ).
We usually dont actually drive while its completely layed out, so tire rub is kept to a minimum or it will tear up the inner sidewall and make alot of smoke, trust me, I know.

And the term "laying frame" is given to vehicles with a full length Frame. I would love to be able to drag an actual frame. Us Baggedbirds sometimes use the term, "laying unibody", which can depend on the vehicles air configuration or engine setup - a 4.6 will lay on the catalytic converters and spring perch mounts of the rear subframe, whereas a 3.8 will lay on the oil pan if not raised, depending on wheel / tire clearances of a certain size tire combo with or without modifications to the wheel wells .. etc etc etc ... you know what I mean. ;)

Im just giving you a hard time Brad .. your rims will fit perfectly and not interfere with other suspension components which is the important part.
Id say you can safely drop your Bird, Cat or Mark up to 6 Inches without even the tires rubbing anything at all as long as the tire / wheel outside diameter is within the factory spec. Wheels are your least concern when that low with rough roads, potholes and speed bumps.

Thanks for giving us excellent wheel choices that are made to fit our cars :D

Dan, thanks for the terminology specifics..:)

Also...I love bringing new wheels out for these cars. Its fun to see the transformations of all the clean cars they go on...Pretty rewarding from my standpoint of being a car nut and being involved.

Are you still offering the "layaway" plan as before ?

Butch

Butch,
We can do the layaway as before. But it has to be paid up and done in 90days no exceptions. I still have wheels sitting on the floor from over a year ago...heh...Its not that big of a deal but I don't have the space to hold on to them.

So yea...If you can getter done in 90days then just call the shop and get your set reserved. It would be 25% down non-refundable and paid in 90days as terms. If that sounds fair enough then pull the trigger man.:) Alot of these are probably going to go quick. Limited supply of everything but I will be re-ordering so no reason to sweat it too much unless you just want to be first in line.

ok yea thoses saleens are perfect, need to get a few things done first and if you stilll have em youll have a PM. As long as I dont have to roll the fenders with the 245-45-18 to keep the tires from rubbing , I just want to bolt em on and go. Its great that you cast these instead of that dang hub swap.
