Could any one help me out at the end of the month. Maybe a Sat. and Sun. I have the used engine out of the parts car and will have it ready for that weekend. I will have the XR7 motor ready to be pulled and hope everthing goes well. Then we can just install the used motor. If you can help out I can help you out in return. Not a problem. Please let me know. thanks

Shawn, I think this Saturday will be OK for some of us, but Sunday afternoon is when we're doing the SCCoO BBQ at Greg Coleman's house in Mississauga.
Anybody else can make it this Saturday ?

Shawn, you have mail. I send you that before I saw the post. I'm in, so is Scott. Hopfully we can get out to you earlier in the am, Bill Shawn does not live far from Sean's house, so maybe we could help out Shawn, he needs to get his car running!! I know that all you guys have cars that are running, and a few us know how it feels to have no car. So maybe with extra hands for help, we can Shawn up and running in the one day, then, if at all possible I could also help out at Sean's house with your upgrades.
Yeah by the way,
I'm sure most are snickering at me after reading this, but we, when possible, should try to help out the guys who's cars not running or working at all. This is just my view on this.
Heck, I'll offer up my help, and my driveway. Wed, fri. night I could help anyone who is going to Sean's on sat. Well thats my idea, and it's open for any opinions

Ryan,
I agree that we should help others as much as possible, but it is diffucult to asses who deserves to get what help and when. I know it sounds like adding performance upgrades is less important that helping someone get back on the road, but we have made concrete plans well in advance, ordered parts, and have all communicated via several methods to organize installations. Personally, I don't know Shawn, and this post just sprung up and I posted that although we would love to help, we have other plans in place.
Personally, I have sold items that are still on my car and I have a responsibility to remove them and ship them to buyers as promised, especially after they have already sent money. I also work every weekend of the year, 365 days, and I took this Saturday off as one of my vacation days with a specific mission to get all my upgrades completed. I know what it is like not to have my car down for a long time, my car was down from August to October, and then went into storage until May, without driving it at all.
Lastly, we have a dyno day approaching again soon, and what will likely be my last track event of the year. I only drive my car in the summer months, and do major mechanical work in the winter time when everyone is available. I know Shawn is likely a victim of an unfortuanate breakdown, and I feel bad not being able to help, but I just cannot lend anytime this Saturday unless we finish early.
Ryan, I hope you understand my position, as I am sympathetic.

Yes, yes Bill, I understand. I'm just tring my best to help out Shawn get back onto the road. Bill like I said, this was just my view, as all are free to there own views, no hard feelings on things like this. Hope all goes well. Most likly I'll stop by, or if in turn, you guy could stop by Shawns's he's about 5 mins awya for Sean's place.

I agree as well, no hard feeling, that was just my explantion.
I'm sure we'll be seeing each other Saturday, and good luck to you boys getting the job done. Maybe we can all get together for lunch or something?
We'll see how the day goes....

I'll talk to you Wednesday night about it anyway ...

Guys,
I feel particularly bad for Shawn, especially since I probably met him before any of you (he bought a used starter off me back when he was installing that motor that cacked on him). I had hoped to have time to stop by a week ago Saturday, but ended up running errands in preparation for taking off on vacations. Shawn, I really am interested in and willing to help you out in getting your car back on the road. It's just that the schedule has been a real bitch lately. I'm hoping it will let up soon (at least for a short while). In regards to this Saturday, Bill and Steve made arrangements with me about a month ago for this particular date, so I'm obligated to get this stuff done. Both of these guys have goodies they need installed before the upcoming dyno day. Since you're located so close to me, perhaps we can make some smaller stabs at your work in the evenings in the next couple of weeks?! I'd even offer to have you tow your car to my place so that we could complete the work there, but my wife and I are considering putting the house on the market soon to upgrade, and it just wouldn't do well to have a car sitting in the driveway half apart... I'm sure you'll understand.
Gents, I'm going to have to ask that we keep the crowd to a minimum at my place this Saturday. It's not that you guys aren't all welcome whenever you're in the area. It's just that Alecia tends to be pretty sensitive to me spending too much time on club related things as opposed to paying attention to her and the kids, and with the club BBQ on Sunday, I need to control how big a deal Saturday is. If a few of you guys assist Shawn early in the day and then want to swing by to say hello before heading back home, then by all means feel free to do so. In so far as people hanging out during the day, could we please restrict this to the people who have already committed to attending? ...You guys know who you are.
Much appreciated,
Sean
P.S. Sorry for the long post.

Sorry I don t want to break any bodys plans at all. All you guys sound like good people and I am glad to be apart of the SCCoA. I would like to atend more meets.
Sean you rember that starter hehe. That was not to long ago.
Thanks for that offer. But there is not much left to do. I just got to take the motor out and then put the other in.
Ryan, Scott and Ed thats good you guys are in. Ya early the better. I will try and prepare the XR7 like I did with the parts car. We pulled that motor out in good time.
Bill maybe I will get to know you in a few more meets.

Ed, you be updated at the meet.
Biil, glad we are square, not hear to piss off anyone!!
Sean, I'll have no problem, just stopping by will be what I'll do. Bill would like to see my oil temp. gauge, after that, I'll hit the hit, so you can make it out on sunday. I hate to see a guy with added women trouble that can be avoided.
Shawn, you are awsome if the XR7 is close to were you had that parts car. I'll shoot to get there between 9-10 am. I'll pass that by Edd, Scott and get back to you.
I'm glad that all understand, I was just trying my hardest for Shanw to get as much help we can get for him. Good luck to all with the upgrades.

I think we'd all like to see Shawn get that car back on the road so that he could attend (and perhaps participate in) the upcoming dyno and/or track day(s).
Good luck on Saturday, guys! I think Ryan has my phone numbers, so please give us a shout if you get into any trouble and need a hand.
Best regards,
Sean

Hey Shawn, I've got the engine hoist for us..
Ryan, we are going to go up with me this time right. I'm taking my dad's truck to bring the hoist.
What time did you want to head up there??
Ryan A Harris
08-22-2002, 12:17 AM
Yeah, but could we stop shortly at Sean's on the way home. I have to pick/ drop off stuff for people.
Ed is going to be at my place at 9-9:15am so we should get to Shawns by 10am. Is that cool with everyone?
For the guys out at Sean's, maybe we could meat up somewhere for lunch, dinner, beer, strippers, opps that slipped. Whatta all think?

Alecia is hoping we'll be done by the dinner hour so that I can spend some time with the family on Saturday, but perhaps we could look at lunch, or maybe you could excuse me and meet up with Les, Steve and Bill somewhere for dinner.
Cheers,
Sean

Thanks Scott. One less worry.
Ryan could you bring that fuel line tool. If you don t mind.
Does anyone have that special power stering pump tool. If not I can get it from crapy tire.
Ok thanks to the guys that are coming to help out. I will see guys early Sat. morning. I will try my best to do as much as I can.
If you have any tools that might come in handy. Please bring them.

The power streering pump pulley remover, just rent it from CTC, thats the easiest way. Plus it's free if you don't break it! I have broken one of those too! (seems I can break almost anything!!). Just don't let me use it!
My tool box, will be packed, with the tools we need. See ya bright and early , around 9-10am.
