Well guys, my first Trip up to Canada was last week, and it was to Boisbriand Quebec to do Installs of Indoor Golf Simulators. It was a good trip, and EVERYONE spoke French

Anyways, this week, they are sending me back to Canada, This time to St Catharines, Ontario, for another installation at Golf Town.

Does anyone know of any hotels in this area, or are from this area that could give me a run around of the city.

Thanks, Mike Boylan

I live in Thorold which is a sub burb of St Catharines, when ya coming up, come check out my SC powered stang. WHat kind of budget do you have for a hotel? There is a real nice one onthe end of town thats actually in Thorold, well the other side of the street is St. Catharines, but the side the hotel is on is Thorold. Plus its off the highway and about 5 minutes from my house. I am in Georgia right now but I'll be home Monday.

Where is this Golf Town? Is it a new store? I am trying to think of where it is, it sounds familiar but can't place it, there are a lot of golf stores around here, lots of golf courses.

Ill be heading up that way on Tuesday. Ill will most likely be there until Saturday.

As for budget on hotel rooms, the company Im doing the work for pays for the hotel, so no budget there, preferably something close to the store. The website says its here... 275 Fourth Ave., Unit 300 St. Catharines, ON
L2R 6P9

Its a new store, and when I map it, it doesnt even show up, as like my last trip up to quebec we needed to call the store owner to find our way there.

Id love to stop out and check out the ride, but not sure how much time we will have. We usually go out to have dinner after work, so any nice restaurants would be good to know.

Let me know, if you have any idea were this place is at.

Thanks Mike

ahh ok yeah that a brand new box store mall, the one across the street is 420 Vansickle RD, the box store your talking about is ont he corner of Vansickle and Fourth Ave. The hotel I reccommend is the Four Points Sheraton here is the link

http://www.canadianhotelguide.com/ca/Ontario-hotels/Thorold-hotels/Four_Points_By_Sheraton_St_Catharines_Niagara_Suit es-hotel.html

its right on the 406 highway and fourth ave is two exits away so its about 7-10 mins tops. I would stay there, I stayed there for my honeymoon, it was nice, butthen again we had the Presidents Suite (thats what they called it) but it was also not called the Sheraton 10 yrs ago :) Thats probably one of the nicer hotels in the area and its close tome too :D

Click the map to view the full map, then click the up arrow twice follow the 406 highway to Fourth ave. The store is right where the first small white street crosses 4th ave(first white street past Louth st, the other yellow street. It's not labeled as Vansickle on the map. The Sheraton is about 1/2 mile from the highway ramp. Also the red mark showing where the hotel is located is wrong, the map shows it on Merrittville Hwy which its not, there is a white street right where the red mark is that loops around to the street that crossed Brock University, the hotel is kiddy corner to the University on that white street.

That should help me locate this on my GPS. The address for the Golf Town did not even show up for me. This should help narrow it down.

Thanks for the Hotel info, we will check into that. Maybe you could meet up with us some night for some drinks or something.

Thanks for the help, Mike

Sounds good. I wont have internet when I get there, but I can let you know Monday night whats going on, when were leaving and what not. Its like a 5 hour drive, but we will be in our box truck and probably get hassled in the border over there. So not sure how long it will actually take.

It will be hard to get out to much in the box truck, but like I said let me know your number via PM or something, so we can meet up.

See ya

Are you all from this area as well?

That's why you NEED to absorb local cultural events like the Ballet. To relax and unwind, eh. You can sleep when you get home. :D

Bruce

BTW - I'm on day 6 of 18 straight on the road. 7 different sites. The best Ballet by far is in Quebec, dere, eh. You missed dat.

I install and instruct video teleconferencing/multimedia systems from portables to complete corporate boardrooms. Are you talking about video simulators?

Bruce

Watch out in Thorold. It's where yore Mudders yore Sister or yore Fadders yore Brudder.

Yea, I install Indoor Golf Simulators. Its pretty much a video game projected onto the screen. There are high end simulators with the projectors, Flightscope Tee box, Touch Screen Monitors. There are the flight monitors were it Tracks your ball flight, and weight trac systems that enable it to tell what your weight transfer is when you swing. Pretty complicated.

Harrrowwww....You want to play?????????????

WII

Sounds like a fun video game if you into golf. By the way you have to check out the ballet before you return to MI. Canadian beaver ballet is the finest around in the Falls area! Downer is nice and so is Private Eyes. I might even be there Friday night too? you never know....
Have fun.

Beaver Ballet is code for strippers!!! wo hoooooooo!

The "Harrow" was from the TV commercial for WII the moving game ...you know the two oriental guys driving around the country in a Smart car asking people to play games.
(maybe you don't get that commercial in the US?) :)
