Don't know what it has for an engine now but it was originally a turbo regal (Grand National/T-Type). Waste of a good turbo buick.
BLANG BLANG FOOL!
If you have to either a. lift the car or b. the rims won't fit in the wheel well, they are too damn big and look retarded. Stupid donks/boxes/bubbles I hope that fad dies fast.
Look at this 30" clear rims on a box caprice:

Do the tires on that Regal even hold air?? They look like solid rubber toy tires.
And everytime I see a pic of a car like that, its surrounded by Gangsta wanna be's with baggy pants, hats on crooked, and standing like one leg is shorter than the other.

I added the link, sorry I was tired last night.
I don't get the whole hi-riser trend. They drive those things around benton harbor, used to bring them to my shop. We could change the oil without the hoist, did it in the parking lot with a bucket, just squat down and pull the plug.
There was a yellow cutlass w/ 24" spinners and a 6" lift, a 96 impala SS with either 24 or 26" rims, a few older caprices and impala's from the 70's (donks), a few boxes (80's caprices), and I've seen a few bubble caprices/impalas.

Notice how the regal says DONK in yellow on the DONKEY KONG mural on the door. It's not even a donk. Most of those cars are called Donk's but the real donk is a 70's caprice or impala because it resembles a donkey's ~~~ with the big rear end and trunk.
The 80's cars are commonly called boxes because of the boxy body style (caprice, parisienne, delta 88, regal, cutlass, lesabre) where as the 90's full size GM's (impala/caprice, roadmaster, fleetwood, etc..) are called bubbles because they are round and bubbly.

Remember when king of the street used to be referring to a sickly fast street legal car, such as the 5.0 Mustang and Super Ford annual King of the street competition.
I learned that from a guy with a Cutlass on 24" spinners who I changed his oil when I worked at goodyear. I was like "ok fill me in on this whole big rims and lifted cars thing" and he was like "you got 3 basic types, donk, box, bubble......."
Did I mention how easy it is to work on the lower end of these things?

Most of the cars are theme cars and are painted to resemble a product or icon.
Also I hear the term DONK is because the Impala emblem looks sort of like a Donkey. I'd say it's more of a Deer/Gazelle, but hey Donkey is close enough LOL.
It seems they prefer GM cars, but I bet you some boxy LTD, Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town Cars, etc... will catch on.
I've even seen a TBird on like 24's. Lets see if I can find it.

Ok, maybe its just me. But I would except that versus a "DONK" with 40's on it. Atleast there is a purpose and if ya gotta go stupid, go stupid in a T-BIRD!
Just imagine Lil Johnny in his brand new jeep getting mudd flung at him by a Muck Monster T-Bird.
