chilton manual shows like 22lbs on the 8mm bolts and 45 on the 10mm bolts. There is no frickin' way!! Anybody have a comment on this? Whats it really supposed to be torqued to?

22lbs for 8mm and 45lbs for the 10mm should stretch a 10.9 bolt to about 90% of yield, which is recommended. Personally I would also use some Loctite.

I used german specs.. worked just fine.. no leaks.. :)

For those of you who just have to know: German specs.. "goot-un-tite". ;)

Redneck tight, for reference, is just a good long grunt.

Book says 18-22 pound/ft of torque for those bolts.

Well according to my digital torque wrench, 15 pounds stretched a 8mm bolt to its limit because I snapped it off. Luckily I extracted it without hurting any threads.

I'm just going to get all new bolts and see how they feel going in. I knew I was going to snap that 8mm, I did it just for the challenge of extraction!!

TbirdSCFan: Its Spelled "Guten Tight" Guten is German for good. :D :D

Ich spreche Deutsch.
