I Have A 90 T-bird Sc And My Brakes Are Acting Up. Some Times When I Get In My Car There's A Noise Coming From The Master Cylinder. Like Some Kind Of Pump Is Running And It Stays Like That For A While. Then When I Start Driving My Brake Pedal Is Really Hard. Its Almost Imposible To Stop The Car. What Can Be The Problem? :(

ABS relay

Try the ABS relay first. Pass, side fire wall it's the brown relay.
Same thing happened to my 90 SC put a new relay in and was good to go.
Don't wait to long because you could burn up the pump motor.
I got my relay at autozone I think the part # was M120.
Hope this helps.

Brakes

my 90' SC brakes make that weird noise where it sounds like a pump is running, it does it quite ofton like when im driving or just fire up the car etc. only my brake petal does not go stiff, im hoping this is normal !!

It is most likely the ABS accumulator ball next to you master cylinder......

Does your brake light and ABS light flicker when you apply the brakes?

Do a KOEO test and listen for the ABS pump motor......

You will hear it run for about 20 seconds and then shut off.....

If you apply the brakes, you will hear it run for about 5 seconds and then shut off.....

If the pump motor isn't running, check the brown ABS relay on the passenger side firewall.....
