Cooling advice

I am going to replace the long block in my 93 SC and would like to hear from those of you in the southwest and anywhere the temperature is ususlly hot. Have you upgraded the radiator? The reason I am R/R'ing the engine is because I cooked the motor last Oct. due to several of the coolant hoses breaking down from the inside (and I kept trying to limp it home after it got hot). Anyway I plan on going with the S&S longblock and need to replace the radiator and all the hoses due to the scale and calcium inside the rad. The car will remain mostly stock, TB, MAF, and High Flow cats are all it's got. I just want it to cool well in the Texas heat of summer. Car is an auto for what that's worth.

you should put a 180 degree thermostat from MR GASKET from the summitracing.com catalog. and add a big transmission oil cooler after the radiator to help cool down the transmission.... you dont want to cook your transmission....
