If you guys are meeting, heres something you can talk about....
My 95' could be purchased if anyone is interested for $10k, period.
I'm looking more and more at the Lincoln LS Daily Driver / 1st gen supercoupe as a toy approach!

ADDDDDDDABOY!
that's the spirit. Get a reliable daily driver and use the Super Coupe for a toy.

Thanks, yours is very nice Red/5Spd 90, but kind of modified and would be over the "toy" price point.
Bruces 90' - Now that would be interesting.
Lincoln - I've never had a reliability concern with SC's , its the FOUR doors and child seat equation that is interesting about the LS!

For thr guys that don't frequent club events they might not know the condition of your car. It might help if you would post some pics and other details.
I myself have only seen the car onc when you first bought it.....it's the closest thing to a brand new SC I had every seen. Not sure how many kms on it right now....

Peter....
I am going to be selling your old 90. It needs a few things, but I know how much you loved it. Want to buy it back?

My 95' has 30k miles on it now with some mild upgrades from when I first got it, all these are invisible outside the car.
Angel - Why are you selling it? What does it need? I still have those headlight knobs sitting on my desk at work!
I don't have any photos handy on this computer, I will round some up. I figured most people who read this board have seen the car in person anyways.

The LS is a good choice watch out for the leaky Rocker covers on the 00-02's on the V8's. I had to replace mine and it was a bigger job then I would have liked to do and very costly from the dealer.
The sport wheels tend to bend easily due to the 60mm offset so if you feel a vibration when you test drive it don't assume a balance will fix it.
Other then those two problems I haven't had any issues with mine. Make sure you get one with the auto wipers, if it was an easy option to add i would add them to everything that I own!

It just all of a sudden died on me one day. I drove it home at like 3am after working at the bar and everything was fine. I went to start it later around noon and it wouldn't start. No clicking noise, no nothing. The car had power, and the lights and gauges were on, just nothing when you turned the key. I think it may be the starter.
Also, it needs a right front wheel bearing and a inside passenger door handle.

Check the small spade connector that goes onto the starter. They can get loose, and it's basically the exciter wire for the starter. If that's not connected, you just won't get anything telling the starter to crank.
This issue has caught more than a few of us in the past. ;)

I rebuilt that starter some time ago, it should be fine itself.
The wire Sean is talking about is about 1/8" diameter. It 'triggers' the starter, corrosion often builds up on that connection over time, or the wire frays and falls off.
A rebuilt starter is $190 - I had to put one in my 92' winter car - swore I had a used one around, but could not find it when I needed it!
The wheel bearing is a bit bigger problem, but can probably be noisy for a while.
The inside door handle should be easy to replace.
You should be able to find all of this from wreckers or in the club inexpensively.
Also, you could probably pull the starter out of your cougar, IF it is the starter that is bad.
