How do you remove the ends off the stock I/C tubes and also how do you remove the nut off a raised top?I'm trying to disassemble my raised top and I/C tubes so I can paint them and polish the raised portion. All input is appreciated.

coller nut

hey just take a screw driver and hammer and tap the nut off. you could try to use a strap wrench if you want, it might work. they do sell a wrench for the collar nut but its 55 bucks i think. hope this helps. don

I think you need to heat it up to break the seal, it seems like they held on with loc-tite.

Careful, I once removed one with a hammer and chisel and split it in half so it would probably be a good idea to heat it up and/or shoot it with PB Blaster or something.

PB blaster won't do it, atleast it didn't on mine

I just used a small propane torch, only took about 15-20 seconds with that...

then a pipe wrench with rubber around the collar, so I didn't mark up the collar. Came off very easily after heat.
