5-speed aluminum driveshaft question

This is actually for my 91 cougar that I'm putting a 393 in, not my 89 XR7, but anyway, here is the situation.

I am putting the M5R2 trans in this car. I am also moving the engine back by 1 inch. I want to put an aluminum driveshaft in the car, but no one makes one that is 52.5" long. I was thinking about buying one out of a crown vic cop car and having it shortened to the right length, but I don't know if that driveshaft uses the same U-joints as the SC shaft. Can anyone help me out here as to what driveshaft I could use and have shortened? Or if there isn't one, the guy at the driveshaft shop said he could make me one for $400, but shortening an existing shaft is only $100, so I would prefer to find something to start with if it exists. Thanks.

Hmm, im not completely sure .. but I know the AOD and 4r70w / AODE have a different yoke and U joint. So if the m5r2 uses the same yoke as the AOD, it wont interchange with one from the Crown Vic if it has the AODE ...
