Gauges not working..PLEASE HELP! READ HERE!!!

ok so i pulled my old gauges out and put a different set in and decided i didnt like them...so i put my old set in... The gauges function properly and everything but the backlighting doesnt work. Where do i start!? PLEASE HELP ME night driving requires a cell phone to light the gauges

Blue wire with red stripe goes to the dimmer switch on my '93. Make sure power from that wire goes into the cluster.

Don't overlook the fuse.

i figured it out!! woo hoo... it was the headlight switch! it has a short somewhere in it..b/c if you pull the switch all the way out the backlights wont work but if you push it in a little the backlights come on! woo hoo PROBLEM SOLVED!!...
