Gasket between inlet plenum and blower?????

My father bought his '93 sc in '97. He got the dealership he bought it at to replace the head gaskets before he laid down the money for it. Anyhow, we are doing the water pump on it, and when we removed the one IC tube and inlet plenum, we noticed there was no gasket between the plenum and blower. I'm thinking the mechanic who did the valve cover gaskets years back had the tubes/plenum off and never replaced the required gasket there.

I'm guessing there SHOULD be some sort of gasket there?

Please advise.

I currently have mine off my 95 and I don't see any gasket there. Neither do I see one on page 4-17 of the Haynes 36086.

a nice upgrade is to get a set of teflon gaskets for all of the i/c connections, they're reusable and they work great, tinknocker sells them on this site.
