well I had been noticing a rattle in the drivers side cat, I assumed it was the heat shield as they all rattle on all the birds ive had. Well after seeing bubbles in the overflow and smelling a horrible carbon burnt egg stench around my car when idling, I find out the cat is glowing red and apparently broken up inside. It was sluggish the last few times I drove it, but I attributed the heat. I believe its been taking a toll on my 150K mile head gaskets and they are just starting to seep compression into the coolant. My oil isnt milk shakey yet, but did have a few bubbles on it last time I checked and stunk like axle grease. Guess that gives me an excuse for a rebuild sometime in the future. But for now its parked (flushed the oil first Funny thing is it runs great right now, but thats how it goes.
