Nice car, I used to be a member at llsoc and checked your car out quite a few times. I've had my 01 LS V8 for a few years and only did appearance mods to it(wings west wing, mclaren grill, lskoncept headlights) Great cars :)

Those are impressive 1/4 mile trap speeds, what type of 60' times did you have?

What boost levels did you end up with? Did you have to lower the compression to add the SC? Do you have any dyno numbers?

thanx guys -

those are old 1/4 times - when I was running N2O - before we could tune it with the SCT XCal2. I wasn't using a progressive controller and nearly spun my way through 80'....

I am hoping to hit high 12's - I have a set of pulley boys interchangeable pulley on the way - should have them on next week. I am thinking with a 2.7" pulley I should be at 5.3psi...

Can you maybe size down the pic of the engine a few....gigamiles? I cant see what I am looking at.

Other than that, it looks really sweet.

WOOHOOO! Makes me want to tear into my wife's LS V-8. It's almost exactly like your car, except 03 w/black interior. You have a super nice Lincoln. Maybe we can make some "improvements" to my S-Type while we're at it...

no vids - yet... I get asked so much about that - I think I've convinced the wife we need a camcorder (and a headrest mount).

Ha...I watched a few other videos including the one of your under hood running car. Are you going to change the flexy tube that sucks down flat when you let off the gas? Very cool car though. How much TQ/HP do you make?

What year is the M90?

Quik LS
02-20-2008, 02:14 PM
the best run was 352.12rwhp/371.73lb-ft

I can't weld.... so I have to use silicon couplers in those weird bends... once I declare it 'all done' - I'll have a local shop do something permenant up for me...

question is - when are any of us 'all done'...

Quik LS
02-20-2008, 02:20 PM
not sure of the year of the M90 - it has an oval inlet port if that helps...

So it's an early model. You'd get a nice increase in performance with an M90 from a '94-'95 SC. Someone on this site is selling an MPII, that'd put you close to 400rwhp I bet.

is it a bolt-for-bolt match?

yes interchangable:)

is it a bolt-for-bolt match?

If you went with either the '94-'95 M90 or the MPII you'd need to mate them to their respective inlet plenum, but they occupy the same footprint if that makes sense. The MPII inlet plenum has an ID of 85mm :D The easiest thing to do would be to go with a '94-'95 plenum and M90. Good used ones can be had for ~$300-$350. But the MPII would feed alotta air into that V8. :)

Quik LS

got it - the MPII would match my Magnum Powers 85mm TB

Wow - awesome car! Really clean and tasteful mods - and there's no doubt the car is serious! :D I love seeing cars modded that typically are left stock - especially when they run like yours! Keep up the good work, and post up some more vids!!!!!!!

Sweet LS. I co-oped at the Lima Engine Plant on the head and block machining line of the DEW engine. They are a unique and nice piece, too bad the production run was so short. They should have offered this small V8 in more vehicles.

not to disrupt the thread but, i have a 94-95 supercharger with 94-95 plenum, an MPII with MP plenum with an extra 94-95 plenum that I'd be willing to part with.

Wow, awesome looking car. I bet with an MPII you could make over 400rwhp easy.

why must i see this............now i find myself looking at buying a ls and having a lil fun....:eek:;)
btw how much $$$ do you have invested in the motor?
and i agree if you upgrade that blower you ought to have some really nice numbers...

Quik LS
02-21-2008, 03:57 PM
so how much more PSI will the MPII generate at the same rotation speed?

I have been using this:

boost = drive ratio X blower displacement X 25.58 / engine displacement - 14.7

so in my case:

drive ratio = crack pulley / sc pulley = 5.635/2.7 = 2.0938

boost = 2.0938 X 90ci X 25.58 / 240ci - 14.7
boost = 4820.34636 / 240 - 14.7
boost = 20.0847765 - 14.7
boost = 5.39 psi

does that math make sense? seems to match my MAP reading....

This also means that at engine redline of 6500rpm - the blower will be running 13610rpm... I read somewhere that the blower is only designed for 14000rpm... what do you think?

pablon2

so how much more PSI will the MPII generate at the same rotation speed?

Hard to say given your set-up. Plus PSI only tells you half the story. What matters is it'll provide more air for your engine to burn more fuel.

mywhite89

just by adding coated rotors to your supercharger would give you at least another pound of boost. You have this done yet?

I know by upgrading to a MPII or better, you can spin the blower faster. For instance, and MPII shows great efficiency at 15% OD on an SC. The question you should be asking is, what rpm's are that? Being that you have a larger engine then a 3.8, increasing overdrive at the same rate as a supercoupe will not net you as much gained boost as an SC. Not that this is a bad thing at all. If anything this is good, because more boost always equals more heat.

Either way, an MPII with coated rotors in its most efficient state, in your car should give you at least 40rwhp and look nearly identical to your current setup. This applies as long as there is no bottleneck throughout your engine that is highly limiting power at this time.

What have you done to the internals, like the crank and rods? Forged?

Even though for us the gen3 blowers and the MP blowers are nice upgrades because we can spin those things up and we normally sit at 13psi stock, you need to know if your motor can handle that kind of stress so to speak.

I would hate to see you blow that sweet ride because you tried to run a blower that could output alot more.

Nice car, all the more reason I want one :D... and I have a spare SC motor... I wonder........

Jeez you did all that and put all that money into this and your running an early style stock blower!?!??!? :eek: Get a better blower

If your math is correct according to your MAP sensor, then you are pretty close. What it the compression ratio of those engines? Since it is only a 3.9, the PSI will be easy to achieve so far as the car is the same boost, BUT....Remember that boost is a relationship of pressure and restriction. You could also loose a bit of boost depending on your exhaust setup. Though you would gain power all the way through, your boost would be lower with no additional changes. Now, add a larger pully and gain even more power.

Chris

P.S. LEARN TO WELD...

Quik LS
02-24-2008, 12:22 PM
the sotck motor runs 10.55:1 compression. I am still running all stock internals... so that is my weakpoint....

we are hoping to make a 'kit' of it - so staying with stock internals is a must. However after the year of work - it's likely more work than most LS owners are willing to undertake.

You posted these as your driveline mods (few more that I don't believe were necessary for the post)
Driveline:
• Prototype Supercharger from Boosthead.com. Eaton M90 Supercharger, customer manifold, belt routing, cooling system re-work, …etc
• XO2 Intercooler (7”x27”3.5”) with hand-made 3" tube routing
• Mustang GT 2005 fuel injectors
• Magnum Powers 85mm Throttle Body
• SCT (Super Custom Tuners) XCalibrator PCM tuning - Custom shift points / Shift firmness
• SCT (Super Custom Tuners) LiveWire - with integrated LC1 Wideband and MAP external inputs
• Built-in Innovate MotorSports LC-1 Lambda wide-band O2 Sensor
• AutoEnginuity OBD II Scan Tool interactive tuning software
• Granatelli Cold-Air Tuned MAF
• LLSOC custom intake induction

With just that, would the kit not only be a couple grand?

Oh, your shifter(s). What is in the console? Does it still have a regular gear shifter? What do the paddle shifters do if the regular shifter is still functional? Why not get rid of the console shifter (I assume it changes from P, R, and D and the paddle shifters go 1-3?) and put something else in its place?

Chris

There's two shifting modes on the LS. Automatic, which is exactly like ours, and then you can slide it over and manually shift using the short throw type function bs.

The paddle shifters just replace that, so you can keep both hands on the steering wheel.
