Difference in rear brakes - 92 - 93

We are having problems with E-Brakes and SuperCoupe calipers we use on kit car IRS'.

Can anyone give me info on the difference between the early -92 brake calipers and the later 93+ brake calipers. Casual observation and they look similar. Yet there has to be a reason they carry different part numbers.

The later SuperCoupes set the E-Brake by moving the brake housing and it "pushes" the lever to engage the puck. Is this system problematic on the Coupe's Is there a way to improve its holding power.

When we try to set the brakes, they do work, but poorly. Can not get them to hold on a hill

From the part numbers we have, the manufacturer is using the Ford Motorsports knuckles with 93 calipers. Rotor and hub is from Mustang.

Anyone run into this and find a solution?

thanks

Paul

93 - up rotors, pads, calipers, and caliper brackets are different than 89 - 92. Main difference is that the earlier rotors are thicker (.950" nominal thickness vs. .709" thick). So the calipers and brackets are narrower in the area that goes over the rotors, and the pad shape is slightly changed too. Maybe you have early calipers, trying to push in far enough to clamp against the thinner rotors?
