Hey everyone!

I need a dipstick tube with bracket for an '89.

Also, I REALLY need a k-frame. It is also known as the engine cradle or front subframe. I recently bought one on here, but after cleaning and disassembly, I discovered it is bent and useless to me. While I believe the seller had no idea it was damaged, I am still out the money I paid and still out the subframe. Sooooooooo if someone has a car that's stripped and ready to go to the crusher and they feel generous enough to donate the piece, I would be grateful. Please reply with reasonable price expectations.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you're equipped, or up for it, but the K-frames are the same on all MN12's (at least for a given year). You should be able to go to a Pick-n-Pull type salvage yard, find a suitable LX, and drop one yourself. Should be plenty of carcases with the engine already out. Just a thought for a cheap solution. The only special tool required is the socket to remove the torx bolts holding it to the unibody.

Good Luck,

JD

There is only one picka a part around here and they don't have one. I am aware of what fits, but they seem to be scarce. Half the places showing they have one really don't and the proximity and number of scrap metal recycling facilities here makes for quick and frequent trips for the salvage yards once they've gutted a carcass.

Truth is, look at the volume of people parting out birds on here and I bet 9 of every 10 go off to the crusher with the k-frame still on it.

I'm in a suburb of Cleveland, OH. Zip is 44147. Don't know if it makes sense to ship the k-frame, but I'm listening. I would think it needs to have everything stripped off to make it as small and light as possible.

Let me know!

Thanks!

I should have a dipstick tube and bracket, I will check tommorow. I wish i had known you needed a k-member about a month ago... my brother took a torch to it to aid in getting the swaybar out of our parts car:(

Wow, too bad you're so far away. There are literally dozens of donors here in town at various self-service salvage yards. I guess it makes sense, given your location, that scrap would be at a premium. I've gotta think there are some Ohio guys on here that could help you out, though.

Good Luck,

JD

Kinda got on this late but k frames around here are a dime a dozen. Ive got 8 that I know for a fact that are good and access to probably 20 more at a minimum.
