90SC - 155K - Daily Driver
Recently the power window on the driver's side was stuck in the up position. I purchased 3M Urethan window weld in anticipation of the window being separated from the 2 plastic tabs. That was not the problem this time.
The power window motor was bad and I replaced it with one from a salvage yard (get the one for the correct side). What's interesting is the motor gear when separated from the scissors arm will still turn forward and back when switch toggled. It had me thinking the window guides were out of alignment. Not the case.
Removed motor with window in full up position, no lower support, and did not need to drill out rivets as indicated in the shop manual. Removed 3 bolts that held it in and replaced by taping end of bolts to socket with duct tape to get them started. Remove speaker and entire vapor barrier for lots of arm room.
Lube and clean inside of panel.
