i just put a rebuilt engine in my 90sc and the kooks mid-length headers are touching the steering rod. they used to be really close with the old engine but werent touching. anyone else ever have a problem like this or suggestions of what to do.

Did you check your motor mounts? I would suspect that if the driver's side motor mount is collapsed, the header would definitely be closer to the steering rod.
I have had my headers on two different thunderbirds without a problem. I wonder if the steering rack bushings were completely trashed if that could cause a problem also.
