After talking to al35thsc a bit, it was my understanding that sccosc was going to try to do a cruise, strip, cruise, strip-type pattern. that sounds sweet to me, i hope to be able to make it to the next sccosc event. however, if anyone is up for it, i can schedule us to race at carlsbad speedway any time in september or october. i will set up hotels (if anyone needs one), a meeting place, breakfast, and anything else anyone needs. Not quite sure on dates yet, as i can not get through on their phone lines. i will try later. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, you can write back here or email me, mylamborfeeties@aol.com. please let me know what everyone thinks of it... and if no one can make it, ill think of something else. I was going for late september, 21st of 22nd. Thanks.:)

october 13th is the earliest they have on their SCHEDULE, however, i will call them tomorrow and see if we can set up to run on our own. oct. 13th is "Import Showdown". Hm, how i would love to go to that. put my "SC-R" sticker on, and call it a racer... i'll check it out tomorrow, and let you all know...

Matt,
When I drove down to Carlsbad it was myself and John Shelton who ran. There was no special arrangement. It was a test and tune. Several others from around the area showed up. As I recalled Anthony and his wife, Valentino and his wife, Mark form I.B. and a young man who lived lived down the road from the track. I can't remember his name. Great bunch of people. Hopefully they'll all show up again.

Mark, the test n tune thing opens at 1 PM, correct? i was hoping we could get all day in, starting at 8AM, if possible. i really need to get ahold of the track coordinators. is anyone going to need a hotel if they come down? if so... what type... holiday inn? or a hilton? lol. if anyone needs one, let me know, ill set you up with prices, and directions from the track.

Matt,
I don't know if I can make the trek down there just yet. Sue was talking about gong to San Diego sometime in Sept. or Oct. My oldest daughter turns 21 in Oct. If we do come down we would be staying with family. I'll let you know after the dust settles down up here. Sue is in Santa Barbara participating in a horse show. She will be suffering from jet lag when she gets home sometime Monday at zero dark thirty.

All I need is a date and time...I'll do my best to get there. I really think my car has more to give although I shouldn't complain after a 15.2 with 111,000 m and the ONLY mod being a K&N and removed silencer :) (still has stock cats all 3 of them and res.) Keep us all posted as far as dates and I think people will start coming out of the woodwork...

Appox. 10-15 minutes from the track, there is a "roadhouse grill". Not sure if you are farmiliar with it, so i'll explain. this place is notorious for car clubs visiting it. NORMALLY every sunday they have 25-30 classics in their parking lot as a "mini-classic-car-show":
Dalton's Roadhouse (original)
West San Marcos Blvd
San marcos Blvd, turns into palomar airport road. so basically it is on the same street as the track, except it's like... 8 miles apart...
if anyone needs directions, which I hope they wont... since everyone will prob. be following me... since I live around here. email me, MyLamborFEETIES@AOL.com. and i'll gladly give you directions to the track, and/or Dalton's. Is everyone cool with this place? they have everything. A thing called "The slab" I'd like to volunteer alex for this, feeling he is best suited for this type of activity. it's a 36oz Beef serloin. If you finish it... you get a nifty shirt. If anyone else is up for the challenge, it's always there...

Matt,
Would this meal before or after racing? If before I must make appropriate adjustments to the car to compensate for the extra beef on board. Matt sounds pretty good. As far as the cruise goes, maybe a little drive along PCH to get a few pictures along the beach. Its been a long time since I drove around the N.County. It has changed so much I hardly recognize it.

Mark, which PCH? Coast highway in oceanside is like, all business buildings. not familiar with any other PCH, except the one in San Clemente. wait, if im correct, PHC, from oceanside, also runs into carlsbad... or vice-versa... is this true mark? the way I figure it... is race from 1:00-6:30PM, to 7:00ish, go take pictures on the coast around sunset, head down Pacific Coast Highway, and hit up Dalton's roadhouse grill off of the 78. and be all said and done around 9, or 10ish. does this sound good to everyone?
Also, is anyone going to be needing that holiday Inn? if so... let me know and i'll print you up directions on how to get back there from Dalton's Roadhouse Grill. Thanks guys, hope this turns out good.

Matt,
I was thinking about the stretch of PCH from Carlsbad and head south towards DEl Mar. You're right about lots of Business Dist. There are some places along the way that are right along the beach. Maybe a little circle track racing at Del Mar. J/K If all goes well Sue, Samantha and Myself should be there. Still the weekend of the 13th?
Maybe Al and I will put on a little slab eating demo. Norcal vs SoCal.

That ALMOST sounds like challenge, remember, you are talking to the guy who ate a whole chicken by himself and picked his teeth with its bones in 5 minutes flat...this included killing and plucking it and a 2 minute break to tell the other chickens they were next lol.
Now beef on the other hand, 64 ounces never did any harm so Mark, you are on! :D Loser has to eat a salad!

Mark, we are scheduling it for the 27th of sept. we were first shooting for the 13th, but that is ricer racer day at carlsbad... i was just about to slap on my racer-type-r-gear and screw on a 29.99 rear wing from pep boys, with drywall screws, but i figured that i'd spare myself. anyone want a gargantuan "team racecar" sticker for their passenger side door/fenders? they are so worthless that i am giving them away... infact, ill pay YOU to take them. alright enough of my ranting. mark, i hope the 27th works for you... also everyone else... if it doesnt, let me know, and ill find another weekend, or something. later

Matt,
I'm going to try to get my shift adjusted.Hopefully my graveyard partner will be willing to swap some days around. Al that's pretty impressive. I once drank too much beer (3) and chummed for bear while on a camping trip in the mountains. Does that count?

Good point ron.Do you know of anyone else who lives as far as you, or even farther that will be attending? if there will be any more, i would consider leave the track earlier. how many runs are expected? I've never been to carlsbad before, and to set it all up, i need a little help. you guys have been great, and i hope we get some people out there. im going to start making a list of who is going. so far it's me, and ron for sure... everyone who is going, go ahead and email me mylamborfeeties@aol.com, and tell me if you're going...thanks :)

Hey guys,
I havent been on the board in a couple months and now I see yer planning another Carlsbad meet. I live right up the street from tha track and was at the last meet with Anthony, Mark, John and the other few (by the way Mark, its Kyle). It was pretty fun for the few people there were. Anyway, if you are planning on going saturday its a test and tune, you could probably get in 3-4 runs if you're planning to leave at 3-5pm. Its only $22 to race as many times as you can and you NEED a helmet. Gates open at 1pm and you just line up on tha street across from the track. The road to get in is NOT paved and is kinda bumpy and dirty, and if your not planning to race you park in tha dirt. If you decide you want to run later you can go to the tower and pay then, but you need to borrow a helmet from someone if you can. It sounds like the whole meet and cruse thing could be cool but we need to have more people attend this one!!!!! I will be there for sure and will probably run so I hope to meet some more of yous. Let me know if you have any questions as I have lived in this area for 21 years. See ya.

What exactly do you mean Ron? Also the PCH cruze would be cool, the strip of PCH from Carlsbad south is very, very nice and there is a ton of scenery (stay out of the Oceanside part, its a craphole IMO). In Encinitas there is Moonlight Beach which has a nice parking lot overlooking the ocean where we could hang out and do pics, burnouts, etc... Anyway, there are plenty of nice cruze spots around here so im sure we'll find something if we want to. Hope to see ya'll.

You know Ron, you keep saying YOU are going to give me the remach as if you did anything besides let her use your car at Bakersfield (you were the sponsor "Yoda" lol). We all know you let Nikki drive for weight advantages and because she is younger and has a better r/t than you. So next time you will be the CHALLENGER, not the defending champion. :D

PS My 35th is still quicker and faster than your's!!!

I dont know to much on the technical side of website design, I know a few basics but I dont think I know enough to be a big help. You could email me and describe the kinds of things you may need help with and I'll tell ya if I can do it, but again, I am not well versed in programming or website design. I am dedicated to this club though so maybe I could learn a few things to help you. Anyway, sorry for any confusion.

Assuming no catastrophic breakdowns occur between now and then, I hope to run. Going to try to better that 15.291 from Bakersfield---we'll see ;)
Anthony
p.s. If Drag City opens this spring, I'll bring our smog monster 77 Corvette (L-48 auto for anyone who cares). That way we can all say we've beaten a Corvette (high 15's if the thing is lucky, 16's are far more likely) 180hp and 270 ft-lbs through a 3 sp and 3.08's---a racecar it is not!

I am definately planning on running there... im not paying to sit around. i just want to get an estimate of what my car runs stock... and work up from there. hopefully the weather will stay good. we had rain about 3 or 4 days ago. but hey, i'd like to run in the rain :) i am trying to talk my brother into taking one of our beaters down there... 88 thunderbird 5.0, and going through two sets of tires. thought it might be a little interesting. hey, does anyone know the biggest size tire that will fit under the stock sc rear fenders? i have a line on some slicks, but not sure if they will fit. thanks guys, this looks like it will turn out good.

ron, just the front of the hood, by the bird emblem is pushed in a little bit. most people dont even notice it, but it is completely an eye sore for me. the car was PERFECT when i got it... and now it's well, not so perfect. i am looking for an aftermaket hood, or even a replacement. but since you jumped on that hood of mark's, like a fat kid jumps on a cheeseburger, i will actually have to go look for myself. oh yeah, do the bird emblems pull off easily? since the 35th emblems are a little different, with the blue around the edges. thanks guys, kinda gettin' off the topic here, but a little BS is ok, right? oh yeah, i still havent heard of who all is planning on showing at carlsbad... ehh.

Ron, we definately have a meet. As i have never been to an SCCoSC meet, does this look like it will be a decent turnout? anyways, since i dont have classes til tonight, i am soooooo gone to the beach :) if anyone wants to chat, im always online, AIM: triangular prism, I'm always lonely to... :( poor me. goodbye

The average high for Escondido for Sept. 27 is 80 deg. Also, the track is at 200 ft above sea level so there should be plenty of air!
Anthony
p.s. Al, traction should be ok if you can avoid driving through the water box ;) jk... The water is behind you when you pull in so those of you who want to warm up the tires actually have to back into it if I remember right. For us who run on street tires, we don't have to look like goof balls driving around it(the guy at Bakersfield kept looking at me funny)...see you guys in a bit.

I figured if they arent gripping, maybe I should nail it harder, of course, we all know what happened then :(

On the advice of everyone I went down to 25 psi but I guess I thought it would have done more than it did (beat the heck out of 38 psi that I had before) . I was still pushing it a bit too hard and as we all know, by the time you realize and process the fact that you are spinning...it's to late:( So what the hey, stay in it for fun...hop, hop, hop my way to a 2.395 60 ft time. The car has plenty more to give but am I smart enough to find it is the question.

Hello everyone,
I know this is off the subject but I was looking at the board and came across Al's new picture. What is that ugly bird? and what is the meaning? or is there a meaning? Our neighbors have Turkens (Chicken/Turkey cross) and I thought that was the ugliest bird that I had ever seen but Al yours tops it!!!
