I need to replace both cats..Any one know where I can purchase, just the stock ones? Any idea on price?
 
might be cheaper to get some

HF magnaflow catalytic
converters. They are around $50 each

you probably wont find stock cats.
 
The darn car fail for nox..(No EGR)..I have never replaced the Cats. found one place but about 1500 installed and their stock...Was looking for cheaper
 
probably around $300

if you dont buy (stock) cats...

magnaflows are great, they are cheap, and you can have any shop install them for a couple hundred....
 
The ford setup is $$$...Get two high flow 2.25 cats for around 50-80 each...Go to a shop..Have them make new pipes and install..

Youll pass an dhav emore power to boot fo rless $$
 
My expeariance with these cars, I would get rid of it
before you spend any more money. Not tring to be
sound rude to any one. I have $35000.00 to $40000.00
trying to get mine to run right.Its still a peice of crap.
If you want a good reliable car thats will not break the
bank ,this is not the type car to own.

If you want to try and fix your car, To pass a gestopo nox test.
Go with after market open cats. with new down tubes,
and resinator.

Actualy I am ashame to post what I have in my 90 SC bird.
because its more than I posted.

I have lost count on how many Fords That I have owned.
All great rides.

Ford should be ashame of the build of the MN12 SCs
and the sales of them. Ford dealers in my area do not
want to even touch or work on them.

I got the catco cats pretty cheap on ebay. I only paid $106 for a good local shop to weld the cats into my aftermarket downtubes.
 
Just wanted to thank all of you..I got the mangaflow cats and had the car re-inspected...It cut the nox down more than 1/2 and passed.

One more question on my restoration: Do any of you know of any 134a conversion kit for the 90 XR 7 that has little or no modifications for installation?
