Where to Start ?

Recently, had a friend swap engines on my 94, the cooling fan stopped working so I replaced it with a aftermarket one. I passed emissions with flying colors even with a check engine light. I pulled the codes and I get code 172,
which states O2 sensor indicates lean bank # 1. I also get code 538(I don't think I should worry about that) With the key on engine off I get a code 563
High speed fan failure(that's why I put an aftermarket in.
So, Question 1:
How can I eliminate the code for the fan?
Question 2:
Where should I start for code 172?
Could it be a dirty injector?
Car runs very good and has power.
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks,
Brian

btw, the check engine light doesn't come on right away. When I start the car, and let it idle the light won't come on. I drive the car for about 2 miles, the light comes on.
Anyone?

I would probably start by replacing the O2 sensor, or at least swapping them side to side to see if the code changes---the computer is smart enough to ingone some bad sensors which is why the car runs alright but if the the other O2 goes bad you may be in for a walk---LOL.........Dan

That's what I am going to do, hopefully a bad connection considering I changed both O2 sensors when we did the engine swap. Thanks for the reply.

If it is a Bosch, then replace it with a NGK or Denso from sparkplugs.com
I'm am not a happy fan with Bosch O2 sensors.

Will do! They are Bosch, and I heard bad things, and still used them. Oh well
Thanks
