My driver side heat shield is loose and rattling like crazy, gets really annoying when your driving, so does anyone have any suggestion other than having it rewelded to stop it ? any help would be greatly appreciated since its driving me nuts, thanks

The options are few...

but you can just tear the offender off. The only other thing I've found that works is place a hose clamp around the rattler and that will both silence it and last.

The beater car repair manual recommends the liberal use of twisted coat hangers for temporary repairs. They caution againt duct tape in this situation.

Seriously, as mentioned above--I have used hose clamps to quite rattlers down.

It is there for a reason.....

I vote for the hose clamp / coat hanger method.....:p

At least until you can get it welded back into place......

on my 90 it bolted on ,but
i go with the hose clamp method ..sounds solid
leave it on

I've taken at least one off of each of 3 SC's that I have. It does seem like it'd be better to have it, but enough is enough.
