THIS IS TRUELY A RARE FIND
I came across this 1990 Mercury Cougar in October of 2006. It was owned buy the owner of the dealership who purchased it new in North Carolina and sat at his vacation house there. The car was only used to go back and forth to the grocery store and to the airport as he was a pilot and flew to his other dealerships in other states. This remained a dealer car until I became the first registered owner in October 2006. I had hoped to fix the few small problems with the car myself, however, just didn't have the time. So I hope to find someone who appreciates this car as much as I did.
I will list ALL problems honestly that I know of and they are actually very small problems.
I immediately had all of the fluids changed, including the transmission fluid. The car does not loose or burn oil or transmission fluid, but there is a power steering fluid leak, probably just a line as it isn't apparent in the engine compartment. There is a small amount of surface rust down the front line of each of the doors which could easily be removed. There are three small cracks in the dashboard where the dash meets the windsheild. The rubber trim around the back window needs needs replaced as someone cut and siliconed the two bottom corners. There is no sign of leakage or water damage. Power antenna is frozen and needs replaced. There is a new replacement in the trunk.
Aside from the two small cracks in the dashboard, the interior of this car is in excellent condition. All of the original equipment. Runs A1. Car is solid and a great ride.
